Root Best kernel for Myn's RLS4??

Im running netarchy-toastmod-4.2.1-cfs-bfq-havs-more-smartass-universal-signed. Should I try the less havs or no havs version? Will I see a dropoff in battery?

Do you have screen flicker all the time or was it just a one time thing? Give the less version a shot. That's what it's for. Some phones just can't handle the aggressive undervolt. Trust me, what little battery savings you might get between more and less aggressive undervolting are not worth a non-functioning phone.

Another question, do you notice a lag when you unlock the screen while using the 245 min setting?

Are you saying you're using a screen-off profile? You shouldn't be using profiles with HAVS/smartass.

Otherwise, I've only had lag with turning the screen on with a 128 min. By the time you turn the screen off, that profile shouldn't be active anymore. But like I said, that was a non-HAVS kernel.

The screen flicker happens for a few seconds when it boots into the lock screen and when I enter the home screen. Then it goes away. Only happens during that time.

No, I don't have any profiles set. I just have the min/max cpu settings changed under the smartass setting

Gotcha, sorry, I misunderstood. You shouldn't have any issues with 245 min. That's the default, and what I have set. Are you seeing lag when you turn the screen back on?

Yeah it takes a few seconds for the screen to respond to my selection. I tried upping it and it seems more responsive.

Interesting. Are/were you overclocking/underclocking? I think your phone might just not like aggressive HAVS in general (or you just had the max too low).

Yes, I am. I have the max at 1152 and min at 245 with the less havs kernel. I gotta say its seems more responsive all around. I guess my phone didnt like the aggressive undervolting.

So what would you say is the real world battery savings with more havs/less havs/no havs? Is it a big difference?

Well spoke too soon. I had flicker issues with less havs. Giving no havs a try. Should I set up a screen off profile?

It's not necessary w/ the smartass governor but you can. If you do set 245/245 for min/max......I use the kernel in my sig, which is no havs and I experience amazing battery life.

Thanks! I went with that same kernel in your sig. We'll see how it goes.

Did you notice a difference in battery with a sleep screen off profile set?

You know what, I haven't ran this kernel w/o having the screen off profile....I'm assuming I may see something similar but if you want to see a glimpse of how my battery holds up, go to page 2 in this thread. I posted a couple of screen shots of how my battery is doing in juice plotter.

KiNgx bfs 9 worked pretty good too but anytime I would overclock above 1036-1075, it would become unstable for me.....It worked best w/o setCPU on my phone.

So far I have Kings bfs 9 overclocked to 1159 without any problems. Its been consistently giving me quadrant scores over 1500. The battery life isn't as good as I had hoped. I set a screen off profile. We'll see how it goes.
