Root best rom w/ everything working

I can't get the twitter widget to work with BB4. My fault for using twitter.
No problem with it for me.

BBv.4 is the best rom IMO. I've had no problems using the 800mhz kernel and my battery life is actually BETTER than it was before. Unless I start using a ton of crap, then it's similar.

Favorite current roms:

1. BBV0.4
2. Kangerade 5.0.9
3. Cyanogenmod RC6

BB is the best in my opinion but it is really debatable between that and Kangerade. CM is only a release candidate and it already ranks in the top 3 best froyo roms IMO. Once CM6 is released as stable, it will be amazing! I switch between all three weekly (crazy?, maybe) but if I need a rom to be completely stable all day (or if I'm going on vacation and won't have time to mess with my phone) I'll run BBV0.4.

Regarding kernels, I've been in love with Chevyno1's ULV kernels for almost 2 months. You can't go wrong with P3 or JDLFG either.

Im running BB .4

super nice

rooting was so damn quick.

now Im gonna test the battery levels tomorrow

so its 7:30pm and my battery is still at 80% even after running pandora for most of the day and texting/emails/phone calls

If you want great functionality, speed and a whole bunch of options and customizations built right in go with sapphire forsure. The others are really good, BB has lead the way as far as user friendly, fluid and a solid build, and rummy makes some sweet themes along with his excellent roms.
But, people are really hanging on to what they've known or "WHO" they support in answering this question i believe. Sapphire is nothing short of amazing. WoW! Plus, this team is new and i believe more motivated and inspired to create the newest, the best, and original rom all of their own. They are challenging to break molds and boundries others have set.

I agree, its hard to enter the rom game as a new developer. I haven't tried Sapphire just because I'm very partial to the three devs I mentioned 2 posts ago. Admittedly, I've only heard good things about Sapphire, I may have to try it out this weekend!

What is anyone using to theme Bugless Beast? I love the Nextheme, hate the stock look of the regular bb.

I don't see anything listed in the Rom Manager that will work...but I admit that I have been away for a while...

Can you recommend one? I have tried Chevys ULV 1000 and now P3 and neither seem to be working for me

GirLuvsDroid put together a nice compilation of the best known kernels here: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/98988-froyo-kernels.html

I had a bunch of trouble w/ kernels when I first went to Froyo. Jake's was the first that worked for me. Not only that, but it wound up being the best kernel for my Droid. And that's in both performance and battery life. But, no two Droids are alike, so you'll have to do some trial and error to figure it out. Happy flashing.

Cyanogen 6 RC1.

I was on Bb v.04 and had been using Petes BB roms for a long time. But the BB 2.2 Roms have given me alot of problems. Wifi issues. Market and App install issues. Restarts. id fix one thing and another cropped up.

I switched over to Cyan 6 and man I love it. It may be a RC but its more stable and usable then the bb .04 i was using. Wifi works like a charm, not a single random reboot, and I love the LITTLE details like Reboot being an option when you long press the power key vice just restart.

Have yet to have a "app failed to install" issue from market place with random apps like i did with bb.

For 2.1 I loved BB but some of the more "adventuress" experimental stuff Petes been doing with his 2.2 Roms have cause a bit of a sour taste. Not that i dont appreciate his efforts...choice is def great!
