Best Route to Root.

I have a branded O2 GS2 and thinking of de-branding and routing it however being new to all this I am still a little confused

I have Odin version 1.85 loaded and ready, read various posts ( maybe to many) I am not sure which prog's and order I should load prog's ! Could someone possibly show the files I need (although I know there are many to choose from) but it would give me a guide.

Nevertheless, look at this [08.06.2011][CF-Root v3.7] KE2/7/8 - su+bb+CWM3 - xda-developers. That's how I did it a couple of days ago. I have never rooted a phone before (although I'm pretty technical with years of Unix/Linux experience) and by following the instructions carefully, it was a doddle.
