Best SD Cards

Wondering if anybody has any recommendations for which SD Card to get?

I'm leaning towards the SanDisk 64GB SDXC which seems to do a 45MB/s transfer as opposed to their $12 cheaper version which only does 30MB/s. I don't know if that would have a meaningful impact but seems worthwhile.

Also wondering if there is any real difference in getting a microSD card and using an adapter as that seems to be what a lot of people do.

Let's here what other people are using or planning to use and why.

I have the 30mb/s card and it seems to work fine. I do not have my phone yet but I've been testing it on my DSLR camera and it seems to transfer data pretty well/fast for my needs. I plan on putting movies/music on the card and then using the onboard storage for apps, etc. Overall, seems to work pretty fast for my 16MP images so I'd imagine it should work okay with music/movie files as well.
 
Wanted to give an update. Amazon dropped the price on both of the SD cards I mentioned (SanDisk Extreme and SanDisk Ultra). They are now $60 and $54 respectively. I decided to grab the Extreme for the slight premium.

Sorry, but I'm only seeing the 30 MB/S 64 gb class 10 microsd card - I don't see the 45 MB/S one? This is the 30 MB/S:

I saw this 45MB/S one, but it's a SD card - not microsd?

Yeah, I just realized that the Note 2 requires MicroSD rather than SD. The first document I was reading said SD Card so I didn't realize it required a MicroSD, cancellation request already sent. Oh well, sorry about that.

Hah, ah ok - got it. I thought I was going crazy ;)

To be honest, I think the 30 mb/s one will be plenty fast. While looking up your cards, I pulled the trigger on the first one you posted. Thanks!

I hope so. B/c it sounds like I'm going to have to get the 16Gb version of the phone (just can't wait much longer for the larger versions to come out) so I'll be relying on the card to suit my memory needs.

Would a 128 gb work? I was under the impression the Note 2 was limited to a 64 gb microsd? Now that I think about it, that doesn't make sense - does it? Though I do know other hardware that is sometimes limited by the capacity of the memory card (IE: memory card readers - never really understood why).
 
They just got around to saying that these phones support 64GB while they've worked for a few generations. I'm sure it'll work once they make it.

Likewise I am certain it will work. I will get one ASAP at release regardless of price, so people can always wait on confirmation from an actual user if they wish (since most will baulk at paying the initial release price and will wait a few months to buy).

You had a 64GB before just about anyone else, so its fun to hear that will continue with the 128GB whenever it comes out next year. :)
Agreed it should work flawlessly. 64GB and 128GB are built on the same architecture, use the same file system, and are both SDXC.

(For those unfamiliar, the big hangup with 32GB->64GB was that they had a different architecture, slightly different file system, and 32GB was SDHC while the 64GB was SDXC. It was a slightly more daunting change than just the overall capacity, but in the end it all worked out perfectly.)

When 64gb microsd first came out, it worked for my original evo and was reported to work with phones as old as the original motorola droid.

I have absolutely no doubt, once it's released, it will work. I too will likely purchase once it's available, but only if it's not over priced.
 
So with all the talk with the class 4 micro cards being better/faster/better for android phones , is this going to hold true for the Galaxy Note 2 which is supposed to be faster ? I am looking at class 10's or class 4's , and pricing is about the same . Just need to know before buying one.
Also what brand is the best ? San Disk , Samsung, Kingston ?

I got the Class 10 64GB Sandisk last week for $40. There was a one day sale. There will be again soon, there have been a few since summer.
