Root Best vanilla Rom?

After using widget locker and launchers to make redemptive revolution and skyraider sense look more and more like vanilla, I figure its time to just get rid of sense all together. I'm looking for a fast Rom with awesome battery life, the only features I really want are power controls in the notification menu, black notification bar with circle battery, and removal of some bloatware. What Rom and moss would you guys recommend?

Also, I love the sense clock/weather widget. My friend said he found some great .apk files online that essentially gave the same thing. I've never messed with manually installing apps, what would you recommend for a good all in one app like the sense one (or identical to it if that exists).

Cyanogen with LauncherPro Plus and Invisiblek #21 kernel to the rescue.

For a paid app, Beautiful Widgets is good. For a free app, Fancy Widget. It was removed from the market for some time because of it's exact likeness to the HTC Clock/weather widget. I see it's now available in the market but it's been reformulated to look different.

I'm still on v1.2.2 and it's pretty much exactly like HTC. I think they may have had a v1.2.3? also before it got yanked not sure though. Because of it's removal from the market and some minor controversy it would be wise if everyone refrained from posting a link here as it may violate site rules.

I'm looking to do the same thing. I've never installed a ROM or a kernel before, but have had my Inc rooted for some time.

I'm ready to wipe my phone and install CM6, after that's done, I'll give invisiblek #21 a shot. Would this be the correct link to it? [KERNEL][AOSP] 2.6.32.26-invisiblek #21 - xda-developers And then follow the "Download - #21 - Multi-Touch 3-10 points, 128 enabled (245mhz still default)" link?

Thanks,
Jim

Looks good to me...

It's hard to beat Cyanogen with one of invisibleks kernels I agree with the above posters. With invis kernels you'll likely faint at how good battery life can be. It's amazing

But I will say, in my humble opinion, that omgb6 (gingerbread 2.3) is the best vanilla ROM out for the Inc for me. It's certainly worth trying. It is faster than Cyan in every way and aesthetically, for me, prettier throughout. But with some mods you can make Cyan look just like gingerbread.

Also worth considering is trying out a few Senseless ROM's as they can give a vanilla feel and snappiness, but at the same time have a more modern HTC-like appearance (specifically mail, calender, and sms).

Cyanogen is the most customizable so something to consider as well.

I second this post!

I was looking at omgb6, but saw that *some* apps may not work well with it. In real-life, is this a problem? Have you seen any apps that don't work? I don't use much, basically every google app, facebook, connectbot, yelp, etc.

That has actually been fixed according to some by flashing the latest gapps from CM7. Posts and info are on XDA

All the apps I use work except for one...weather bug elite... and I've got other weather apps that will hold me over till omgb gets this fixed out-of-the-box.

I've never had a reboot, battery life is excellent, the ringtones/sms tones are awesome!, it's so fast you'll freak out, idk guess you just have to try it and see if it's for you.

For the longest time I probed 'forum-ers' "is this ROM for me?" Then I realized it's way easier for me to just try out ROM's for myself. With Ti backup it takes me 30 minutes to set up and test a ROM.

I just flashed it and it is really nice! It's super fast and smooth. My only issues were the video camera not working, and some reporting that bluetooth was a little wonky (I hadn't tried it). I liked the look. I should have flashed gapps as you said, maybe that would have fixed the camera? I see video recording listed as broken, so maybe not? I'm restoring a backup I had of CM6 + ADW EX, I had only flashed that last night, so I'm going to see how that is in the real-world, and maybe revisit omgb when they have those few issues sorted out. It is really, really nice though!

the gingerbread ROM is blazing fast. Had some hiccups with not being able to connect to the SYNC system in my ride and weather widget not working, otherwise is amazing. It is now my everyday driver :)

Question to you and all you guys running OMGB, do you have an slcd screen or AMOLED?
