Root Best way to tether after root

just got phone today and rooted, have clockworkmod installed. tried wireless tethering app, and dosnt work ( no AP shows up ) i read ---> http://androidforums.com/infuse-4g-all-things-root/368749-tethering-after-root.html but someone commented that u can get caught tethering changing the APN settings. Is there a special way or do u recommend a ROM that is already setup for tethering out of the box? thanks

I use the apn way..but I hardly tether


seriously though there are about 6 threads on this already

let's try and keep the clutter down and utilize the existing threads when we can
