better battery?

The Eris and Hero are different phones.

You can put in a Hero (or the Seido's Hero battery 1750), but the sides of your battery cover will not snap. If you have a case around your Eris, this MIGHT NOT MATTER!

It's well worth a try. If you have a friend with a Hero, try putting it in your phone and putting your case back on. If the stock battery cover's sides not snapping is NOT an issue, just get the Hero extended battery. 1750 is worth it!

I wonder, if the 3500 battery will fit with NO battery cover, with my Eris case on it. That would be a trip!

I doubt it will. I run a 2600 mAh battery in my Storm. It is almost twice as thick as the stocker. I am not saying the Eris extended (the 3600 mAh) will be that big but knowing the technology behind LiPos like I do (I am big time into Radio Control cars and trucks where that technology is really taking off) it will be at least 1/3 larger. Seideo will be coming out with cases that will fit the phone with the extended batteries in place. I have found that my Storm actually feel more substantial in my hands and yet still fits in my pouch and in my dash holder.

new cover? does that mean i have to get rid of my beautiful gel case :(

If you want to run the big battery? Yes. IMO 200 mAh isn't going to be worth the money for the OEM fit extended battery. That is only 15% more battery--maybe another hours use???

Newly posted: seidioonline.com

It appears the extended batteries will come in 1750mAh and a 3500mAh capacities. $49.95 and $69.95 respectively.

Cheers!!!!:D Now which one to get?......

(added)---the product listing is saying that the 3500maAh batt will be the same thickness as the original. I'm thinking it may just be a typing oversight. Either way, I sent tham an inquiring e-mail.

Take a look at the picture of the Droid extended battery on the homepage. That will give you an idea of how big the 3500 mAh battery will be. As for the OEM size extended battery being 1750 mAh--that is worth it if you want to keep the stock battery lid and your case. Me? If I keep the phone it will be getting the biggest battery I can get.

Again, thanks for the update!!!

It will fit with that charger. Even the 3500 mAh battery will work with that charger. The charging contacts will be in the same place regardless of the thickness of the battery.

i guess the question is, which do i get!?

i'd like to get the largest but damnit, i dont want to lose my case! maybe i'll get one of each :x

I'll be getting the big one if I keep the Eris, but I got used to having that hump on the back of the device with my extended battery in my Storm. Actually gives you more to hold onto.

so then you need to purchase another case when using this battery eh? btw, have u tried the extra battery cradle charger? i think it would work great as a backup.

I will have to have another case for the 3500 mAh battery, but Seideo will be selling those as well. The case I have on my storm is from Seideo as well.

I have not tried THAT exact charger cradle but it is just like the one I had for my i730. That phone came with a standard AND extended battery and the cradle. That was one nicely designed phone and cradle. Too bad it was a WinSloMo phone! LOL!

Have y'all seen the pics of the 3500mAh battery posted on Seidio's site?
It looks a lot thicker than 3-4mm to me. Not crazy about the look. Can't decide now if I want all that bulk...

yeah i noticed that earlier today and now that i saw the pictures i don't think i'll be buying it anymore.

i was right on the edge of buying the 3500... i was about to say yes but once i saw how ugly it makes my currently slim/hot phone i instantly decided on the 1750!

Yeah thanks for the picture, it is going to make my choice so much easier. I really would have liked a bigger battery, but I don't want my phone to look like that.

That's terrible! No way am I doing that to my phone! I'm buying the desktop charger with spare battery compartment and a $10 battery off of ebay. I did this with my last phone and it worked well for me. Carry the extra battery in your pocket and just swap when the battery in your phone gets low. Takes all of 20 seconds to make the switch.

Yeah I don't think that would be a bad idea, but I don't know about that for me. I would probably lose the battery or drop my phone when making the switch, I am such a klutz. I think I will buy the 1750 and then if I travel, just bring my old battery as a backup.

Is there any point to have one of these? Does it do anything different than hold the phone in it? Or does it just charge the phone like a regular charger?
