Better SMS APP ?

I actually like the standard SMS app in general, however i have issues with group messaging. I can send the same text to a few people, but they see it as a text only to them, so when they respond it comes only to me.
What I want is threaded group SMS/MMS texting where several people can be in a conversation togeather. The AT&T app has this feature, however in THAT app when I get pics if I touch them to view full screen it shows only as a thumbnail on a big black screen.
I tried GO SMS Pro but that seems about the same in that regard to the stock app.
Any suggestions?

all that stuff looks neat, and the pics come in nice, however group conversations? its not default set up so how can i get that rolling? otherwise its a non-starter.

you should try out KakaoTalk. it does group sms/mms (pics, vids). the best part when the folks in the group reply, there comments stay in the group. the native sms the Note uses, does not support that. i've tried it out with the Note and iphone4

KakaoTalk is not really a txting app, its more of a IM app (uses its own system, have to accept terms of use, etc). Or that's what it looks like. Looking for an actual texting app.

I like the stock AT&T messages app for "Visual Voicemail to Text" and the fact that the messages are stored via cloud. That means whenever I restore or switch ROMs, my txts are still there (or get re-downloaded) when I re-install the app. It does have pitfalls though...
Hey Guys looking for some help. I'm on the fence about buying the note as my contract is up on iPhone 4. 2-3 of my co-workers have iPhones and we would use the voice recorder all day to send messages back and fourth via text. Well I was at the AT&T store the other day and attempted to record and send a voice text using the built in app on the Note. It comes across on my iPhone like normal and I clicked the message to start playing it but the "play" button isn't there as if the audio format isn't supported..I looked around the setting but couldn't find a way to change to audio format on the Note. Ofcourse when I asked the guy behind the counter he looked at me like I was speaking Chinese. So if anyone has the note and can fumble around with the voice recorder and find a fix please let me know. Thanks in advance guys.
I haven't tried this but there are a million ways to customize your phone I'm sure there is one for this. I went from iphone to this and I was mad the first 2 days but by day 3 I saw how much I could customize everything. I'll play around with the recording to see if I can figure out what you are specifically talking about

I have always used Handcent SmS ever since Ive had an android phone. You can customize so much.
