Better to pocket: tbolt, charge, or iphone 4?

i don't think i could ever suggest the charge to anyone. things ugly. if you have the choice of getting verizon's flagship phone (thunderbolt) then get it. don't settle for an iphone. the tbolt is extremely pocketable...and i occasionally wear skinnies. not skin tight though...cause that's just not right. If size is your ONLY concern, get the iphone. if you want a great user experience, tbolt.

Or the Inc 2. pretty much the same specs minus a 4.3" screen and LTE. I had the first Inc and that phone was absolutely amazing. I loved the contoured back. I actually really miss that design a lot. If i didnt want a 4.3" screen i would have went with the Inc. So my suggestion is to go for it. Its thin and its going to be an excellent phone, i promise you that. 100X better than the Iphone!

Or get the galaxy S. Thing is as thin as a noodle. The S2 hopefully will come out some day but who knows with Verizon getting that joke of a phone called the charge as their first samsung 4g phone.

+1

No iPhone. The Inc 2 blows it away. And the no LTE thing doesn't matter cause the iPhone doesn't have LTE either. I've got a bolt - no problems pocketing the thing, but it is big.

To be honest, i was a little shocked when i got the bolt in the mail after never having seen it in the store. Reading people talk about how big and beastly it was, i was expecting something that would be like putting a freaking laptop in your pocket.

What i got? A phone slightly slimmer than my droid 2 and the screen size wasn't as drastic of a change as i thought it was going to be. Freaking people...you freaking people scared the shit out of me with this "ohhh it's so big and beastly like an inc on steroids ohhhhh noooo". Really? Freaking come on naw

:D funny

It kinda depends on what you are coming from. It is a big phone - that's not up for debate since the advent of these incredible tools that take the subjectivity out of size and weight - I'm talking about rulers and scales.

Now the look and feel of the phone - I agree, it doesn't bother me in the slightest - and I thought it would. My wife had a tiny little Palm and the size doesn't bother her either, but then again, she likes things big. :p

When I first put my Thunderbolt in my pants, it was so satisfying, I took it out and put it back in my pocket again to experience pure cell phone pocketability Nirvana.

I believe the Thunder bolt is much easier to pocket based on its shape. Half my family has the iPhone. If you leave it stock it pockets easily, if you put any kind of protection on it beyond a skin it becomes more bulky and is harder to pocket than the Thunderbolt. With the thunderbolts rounded back it slides in and out of my pockets with ease. I cant comment on the Charge as I have only seen pictures.

My opinion: The Thunderbolts larger screen, 4g network, and the openness of the Android OS make it a better choice for me. I don't have huge hands but I find that while surfing the net, I have less trouble touching small links on the Thunderbolt. My wife is always asking to use my phone so she can go to certain websites that don't work on the iPhone. iOS does have a larger backing from developers, but with Android taking over the lead of smartphone market share this is changing. If apple doesn't increase their screen size and make some big updates to iOS on the next iPhone they are going to be in trouble. That being said they will release functionality that is already included in Android or come up with some gimmick that nobody will use and the media will bow to them and all the fan boys will create huge lines that stretch around city blocks.

Note: I am not a fan boy for Android or Apple. I obviously own the Thunderbolt and my last phone was the Droid 1, but I also own multiple Mac Computers, iPods, an iPad 1 and an iPad 2.

Hope this helped!

Had the iPhone 4 (in a bumper). When we switched to VZ, I was torn: liked the idea of Android/TBolt, but it looked so big! The sales guy had his personal phone out and I asked to fondle and pocket it. Sold! The TB slid into the front jeans pocket at least as well as the iPhone.

Note: no case on the TB. I don't like cases and only had the bumper because I disliked the sharp iPhone corners. Yeah, and the reception issue.

As always, try it yourself. I think you'll find that the design of the TB makes it not such a behemoth.

I agree with you about the charge, imo it is ugly. I dont like the "point" that the buttons make, and it reminds me of a lot of the $50 android phones that Verizon sells.

If you get the Tbolt pay a little extra for a Seidio case. The Verizon "silicone" cases are bulkier, don't fit well, and attract pocket lint like a roller brush. Switched that out for a Seidio Innocase II. Slipped into my pocket with ease.

Is it just me or are these mods way too anal? Gonna delete this post too cause I said "anal?"

Honestly, your post didn't offend me and probably doesn't offend a lot (if not most) of the people on this forum. Problem is that your post could have offended some users on here and because of that, I edited your post.

If you would like to review the Site Rules/Guidelines a second time, I'm sure you'll see the following:

Terms to NOT use: There are a few terms I ask you don't use. I'm going to have to space through them here for the purpose of this post, but otherwise they will be filtered. Do not go around them.

One being "g_ay". Don't call something g_ay. Does it bother me? No, I do the same thing, too, in private. I know it's not meant derogatory to that particular lifestyle when *I* use it (again, in private). It's just habit. Does it bother my g_ay brother, who also uses the the term in the same manner? No. But it does bother a lot of people and I'll tell ya, I've worked at a lot of forums out there and there's nothing that gives me a harder time than whether or not it's okay to call something g_ay. So this one's getting nipped in the bud. Keep that, "f_ag", and even "r_etarded" outa your posts. As well as obviously offensive things that serve no other real purpose, like "c#nt" - and racial slurs.

As for the word anal, I don't have a problem with you using it...as long as it's used as in the same context in which you just used it.

We're here to keep this forum a friendly and welcoming place. If you have a problem with that or need additional clarification on the site rules/guidelines, please feel free to send me a PM ;)

I think people are too busy looking to blame the authority figure to figure out why posts are getting edited or deleted. Most mods have no dog in the fight and couldnt care less. Realize this and make a mental note: when a thread gets so offtopic all that's left are people being negative to each other, it's not worth keeping open
