Root BIG contacts problem

I looked for an answer to this, but found nothing, hopefully someone can help.

When my contacts sync with backup assistant I lose a LOT of my contacts numbers. The names stay, but there are no phone numbers for a lot of them. I've lost countless numbers thanks to this, and constantly have to keep putting peoples numbers back in. It seems like my facebook contacts sync fine, and those are the only ones it keeps, all the other ones it deletes the numbers!

Is this a problem with my rom or something? I have no idea what to do or where to turn :/ I'm running Velocity V0.3 with JIT and turbo4 Kernel.

Thanks, any help is appreciated!

Backup Assitant SUCKS, backup your contacts to GMAIL/Google Voice (should happen automatically) and your golden from there. I can wipe my phone, reinstall and in less than a minute I have all my contacts and their numbers EXACTLY as they were.

basically just login to your gmail account and goto contacts. all your contacts are their if they were on your phone. you can send sync request form gmail to your phone.

ok, got it figured out I think. For some reason all of the contacts I've lost since this started happening (a couple months now) were all saved on my online backup assistant, so when I hit sync from my computer instead of my phone it put all of my contacts back on...

Deleted the backup assistant account, imported contacts to gmail, and will use gmail as my backup assistant now.

Thanks for the help guys! I REALLY appreciate it!

I do a manual backup, copying the file to my pc so that I won't lose anyone. The file on my sdcard is 0001.vcf.

This is the best method in my opinion. This way you don't even have to put them in your phone also. As long as your sd card is in your phone, Android reads them from the .vcf file.
