Yes, now it's official, lol! I didn't even notice the "will be" part at first! :O

No, it's good news about JB. I have it on my Transformer and it is nice. However, if we don't get it, I'm not going to complain. All I was promised was ICS and we are getting it, if very delayed. In some ways I wouldn't mind the $100 though LOL.
 
So why didnt they just realease 247? are they going to hold that off or a possible new firmware has replaced that... ah the secrets!

I was actually just about to ask this in this and the 247 thread.

If the only difference between 246 and 247 was the JB upgrade path, then this really makes one wonder why we aren't getting 247. I always believed we would get JB if the Razr got it due to the identical hardware, though I wouldn't have been disappointed had we not gotten it since was never promised when I bought the phone to get anything past ICS. But does make one wonder why the 246 release.

Punit Soni is one of the head guys in charge @ Motorola Mobility so if he puts his name on it we will get JB eventually. By the way,

This is the 1st good news I've heard so far for this phone. The Bionic has always been in the shadow of the Razr. Finally, we are getting something that the Razr isn't getting. Almost makes not regret buying this phone. Almost...
 
We'll probably get a patch update similar to .247 prior to getting JB anyways so no matter what .246 won't be the last update prior to JB.
 
I bet that .246 will be replaced soon after the OTA with .247 via an update.

I have been running .247 for a few weeks and after the announcement loaded .246 to get back on the OTA path. Having had them both I feel like the .247 build is snappier. The phone was incredibly responsive on .247.

Just my opinion...

I have to say, I have been impressed with him and his honesty. Not many people at a company come out and say they let down a segment of their customer base and that they intend to try to make it right. Since he's been in charge, it has been obvious Bionic's ICS had been a priority to be released.

I may not stay with Verizon when my contract is up, but this is making it so I am likely to stick with a Motorola phone.

BTW, LOVE the Veruca picture :)

Maybe the real purpose of .247 was to have something ready to go if VZW rejected .246, who knows. It could have been my imagination but I thought battery life was much worse on .247 than .246
I can't tell any difference in them performance wise.
 
From what I just read at motorolas forum, .246 we are getting is actually .247. Ill link the post in a sec when I find it again.

Nope, that's just wrong. .246 is .246 and .247 is .247 though both may have certain patches included, I'm officially saying I have no idea what's different from first hand experience though, and I doubt to many people really know for a fact.

Please dont get me wrong, I wasnt saying for sure, I was just relaying info hoping someone can confirm/deny.

Just saying differences we all know,
1. The dates they were signed and locked down.
2. one is 246 and one is 247.
3. one is the SOAK, OTA, upgrade path, and the light and one isn't.
What may or may not be different beyond that we really don't know.
 
We've waited for months for ICS, watch us be on ICS for like 2 or 3 weeks and then JB gets pushed to us. I know it's unlikely, but would have to laugh if something like that happened.
