bionic sooner than we thought?

I was thinking, and if the bionic is so far out there in calander date then why was it announced at CES instead of MWC. Sure it could be to get the hype out earlybut I feel it would make more sense to do it at the MWC.

so with that being said I think the Q2 date they through out there is fiscal year q2, not calender year. opinions?

I don't know why people keep trying to say "fiscal year, fiscal year". ALL OF THE DATES given were "of 2011", not "of fiscal year". Engadget had said that CES was way bigger this year than the previous year, and that it was odd that the mobile carriers were showing off devices at CES. But everyone has figured it was just that, to get people hyped up on their products coming out. They figured CES wasn't being utilized properly, and decided to get in on it to fill people in early on their roadmap for the year. If you've been on Verizon for any length of time. If anyone says a phone is releasing for Verizon in March, that means June.
 
these phones were announced at ces to drum up buzz to combat the hype the Iphone coming to verizon is going to create
 
i know but its wishful thinking that were getting it sooner than later. I want to switch phones now :P

now please excuse while i throw a temper tantrum in hopes it will give me what I want. (works for nephews)
 
NOTHING major by OEM's will release until the iPhone fevah' has slowed down. Motorola will wait until March to start their soft ad campaign for Bionic. No way February or even early March, unless they want to be in a very large shadow.

Regardless of what our bias may be, the media and hundreds of thousands of Att people will focus and bail to VZW for the iPhone during this period.

Our main concern should be throttling, due to bandwidth. Maybe this was Att's master plan? Kill the competition by them choking themselves ;) :( :)
 
Verizon is always late...not just a little, typically their dates are a quarter or more off. If the Bionic is out by 2nd quarter I'll crap my shorts.
