Root Bionx (Project Closed)

well i had it rough

flashed the rom and it worked but it was stuck at
"updating partition drive" or something and i was using twrp
and it was there for like 10min so i held the power button and rebooted
then it got stuck at the twrp screen just said teamwin and bootlooped into that screen and couldnt get into to recovery, so i just used the cab method to flash back to zv7, so now im going to use CWM instead and see how that goes, btw thanks for the rom!

I tried to warn everyone running TWRP that it's not functioning properly. Nothing against neph's work because I'm very thankful for him and he's done a lot of great work, including getting TWRP going, but there is definitely something going on with it when you do a full wipe and flashing to a different rom. Thankfully the cab worked for you because if you were in my boat and have a PC that refuses to let the cab work, you'd be in a pickle ATM. :p

Successfull install via cwm ;) it may be ur spectrum bud

No more flashing on my spec it looks like. :\ .. One drop and the thing doesn't work. LG Spectrum 2 should be here later on in this month or next month, but at least from the screenshots it looks good. (lol) :D

I was reading spectrum 2 reviews on Verizon's site a couple days ago. It has very good reviews. Considering the spectrum 1 had terrible reviews that's a good sign.

I would say try a cab restore and see if it fixes anything

Thanks I'm really excited, wife wants the intuition.. It's actually nice I went to Verizon yesterday and saw it but I still want the spectrum 2

That'd be my 4th time... But ok... Damn phone... It's worth it though for your awesome rom

This is a great ROM for the LG Spectrum.
The radio stays connected ALL the time now and things just seem to work.
Thank you very much for your effort on this project.

The only thing I have found that most others probably don't even use, is the setting for Aspect ratio correction.
When I set it for SPB Time, the setting goes a little too far and shows a quarter sized image but the UI is still where it should be.
It's usable either way.

Still, this is excellent for start.:D

Best ICS ROM I've flashed so far.. On screen navigation buttons works fine for me. I had to use es file explorer to enable it. Your app wouldn't let me change the values..
For anyone wondering. This is stock based. So the cap lights can be disabled under display settings

Finally got a chance to flash this today. So far, seems super smooth and fast. I'm really liking the launcher. Good choice there. The Bionx Dashboard is awesome. That's worth dropping back to ICS for IMO. Only thing missing is OC but that's mostly on me to come up with.

Update on the kernel: I finally got my laptop to play nice with my Spectrum today so I should be able to really get moving on it. I'm going to test one today and if it works, try and pack it up into a flashable zip. I'll post another update tonight if all goes well.

Goof stuff.

If someone could mirror the download, that be awesome "before my dropbox times out"

Here's a mirror link from my personal dropbox.

Google drive link is here.

Kernel update: Current build is a no-go. It boots far enough to get adb but from what I can tell so far, there is a fatal error somewhere while trying to boot into userspace. I'm going to look into it more later. I'll try a new build too and revert some changes to see if I can get it going.

Small update
-added external links in changelog
-updated changelog viewer
-update manifest
-cleaned up some xml errors

In order to install, 2 methods
*adb push /system/app
*get a root explorer or root system app viewer, delete current version of bionx-res and install new version.

Link provided on Rom page

It doesn't like reboots. I tried rebooting but it bootloops. Tried dirty flashing, bootloop again. I'm trying a clean flash right now. We'll see how it goes.

Dedicated droid razr development tonight, havnt had a chance with the Spectrum. Sounds like ur making progress

Got the kernel to boot! So far, everything appears to be functional. I haven't had time to test it very much yet though. Biotic, I will be pm'ing you a link to a zip of the .ko modules and the boot.img as I can't seem to get a flashable zip to work.

This screenshot is taken from inside the Bionx Dashboard. Also, for GPL compliance, the source I used to compile the kernel can be found here.

Also, just to let everyone know, this is basically completely stock from the kernel put together by TDM, PlayfulGod, Death2all110, and all the others who have contributed that I don't know of. I take no credit whatsoever for the kernel itself. I just compiled it and worked out a few kinks. Also, once a flashable version is out, I am in no way responsible for bricked, burned, or otherwise damage, destroyed, or maimed devices.

Alright, I love that you kept power saver from stock ics, that was definitely a yes for me, i flashed last night and gotta say that it's awesome! Loving the dark ui for the most part, and i like that messaging app quite a bit, only thing that doesn't work for me with the xperia lau cher is the menu key... For whatever reason it either vibrates and does nothing or tries to open Google now, and then doesn't. But that's not a biggie, cause I can just get to settings from the pull down. Very good work biotic! Keep it up! and thank you ortrigger! Kernel is great, loving the ability to go back to stock and oc if I want

Will post screenies of progress as I progress. I understand some are wary of flashing a stock rom but il make it worth while.

It's already pretty dang smooth. The wallpapers are all pretty awesome also.

Meanwhile, I will be hard at work with more stuff for the kernel. Top of the list are merging some of tdm's changes and slimming it down a little. Also, for those of you who can't live without jelly bean, I will be working on a kernel for you as well. It will probably be a little while still though because I want to give you something unique.
