Bioshock: Infinite

Apples and oranges (IMHO). Bioshock is stylistic vs Crysis which aims for realistic/technical. So I think you're both right, just looking at it from different perspectives.

You wont find anything like this in Crysis:

Nor would you find something like this in Bioshock:

This is the way I see it:

Crysis 3: some of the best, most-realistic graphics in any game ever.

Bioshock Infinite: some of the most artistic and beautifully stylistic graphics in any game ever.

True enough. I actually put it that exact same way to my housemate. From a purely technical standpoint, Crysis wins, hands down.

Its like Doom 3 vs HL2 in 2004.

Damn, I didn't actually realise Crysis 3 had been released. I must have been under a rock for the last six weeks!

I've beat the whole game so I am not giving any spoilers. All I gonna say is that name comes from...
Error 919: Huge Spoiler

I'm more than a little let down it only took 13 hours to beat. At the price I paid it should take a lot longer or have an online component to supplement.

Agreed, I wish it was longer! 20-30 hours would have been amazing.

Still, it's one of those games I sort of expected to be short, and for some reason dont mind looking over the shortness. And it certainly wasn't too repetitive or had length artificially inflated.

Those grappling hook thingums were so much fun!

Yes, I am glad they didn't make the travel overly long to lengthen the game. That was a big complaint I had with Far Cry 2, it just seemed to take forever to get anywhere. At least 3 puts more action in along the drive.

The hooks were most definitely fun! I wondered how they planned on executing that when I saw the first previews over a year ago, they handled it well.

Did anyone else find this a bit stupid? I've got to take back the First Lady Airship but there was another airship shooting at me. So I have to climb on the other airship and destroy it so I can get my airship back. Why not just fly the airship I was on to where I need to be.

Borrowed BS: Infinite from a buddy. Just started it yesterday. Made it to "Heaven" and questing towards the Angel statue. Never played a previous Bioshock before, but this one is darn good.

I dont remember that specific scene but there are a few that certainly dont make a ton of sense :)

Best not to overthink it...

....until the end....

...psh. like I would spoil the end :aetsch:

I've practically stormed through the game in one day. Don't want to spoil it for anyone, but the game is amazing. Can't wait to finish it tonight.

Maybe Im going against the grain here... But to me its kind of boring... Im a few hrs in, just got to monument Island, and about to board the airship

Just seems slow, alot of searching for coin, health, hairpins, salts etc.. Almost seems like a rpg with a little FPS action.. I have it for PS3, and am just debating just trading it in..

I mean.. that's your prerogative, but it would be a dear mistake. The story line of the game is absolutely fantastic, and I would recommend it to others for that reason alone.

What a game. Holy hell.

So I guess that means you hated it?;):p

The story progresses and gets better. And I would say it is very FPS, you want a bit of a challenge, pick a gun and stick with it like I did. Only changed a few times in the whole game.

Doesn't sound like you are up to the grappling parts yet.

Also, dont be afraid to experiment with powers. Certain combos can be cool.

but it wont be everyone's cup-o-tea. But it's not a long game, (15 hrs?) So I'd suggest you play through the whole thing at least once :)
