Root Birdmans new rom flyX

I don't want him to rush, I will be happier waiting a few more days and not having bugs on a Vanilla Froyo ROM

Two words (again)

Open Beta:D

When I had the Inc I didn't flash one ROM that was anywhere near complete. That's the beauty of recovery though. You can mess around with the buggiest of ROMs and when you need a good reliable phone you just flash back.

Believe me there are plenty here that would test it.

Also unless he's decided to go ahead this is just a debloated optimized and something else version:confused:. He said Vanilla was next.

I'm a little surprised we don't have more starting to cook up some ROMs. I only had my DInc 1 month and it got rooted the week I got it. By the time I got the X 29 days later the Inc already 5 or 6 ROM makers releasing ROM's. None of them were anywhere near complete, they'd have GPS not working camera not working etc etc but when I was done I'd just flash back to my good setup.

Oh well I guess they'll be here sooner or later.

Exactly. There's a spectrum from people who want to be on the bleeding edge, to those who value stability over all else. Verizon and Motorola only really cater to the latter group (to keep support costs down I'm sure), so the rest of us are motivated to install ROMs. I personally don't mind having glitches, just so long as updates are frequent enough that bugs are short-lived.

What does this mean:

_mrbirdman_ To those of you who did the "droid2 fingerprint fix" for your apps in the market...undo it....or never do a factory reset..you decide..

Is he referring to the Build.prop file replacement we did to get the market working? Is he saying we should undo that before installing the rom he is about to release? What does he mean about never doing a factory reset? Is this the bug he was experiencing?

yep, his twitter also says to wipe data. i thought it may require that. i am downloading now. need sleep. cant wait to install first thing tomorrow morning.

yeah just read that..i havent been wiping with any of my other backup/recoveries though...

im interested to see how this optipng is gonna work out.

got it installed. love that the bloat is gone (although, i had it gone before). the only thing that was removed that i kept backed up was swype. i have come accustomed to swype, so i just backed that up before i flashed.

ran quadrant on the first startup, got a 1284. probably need a reboot. anyway, i'm gonna get it all set up tomorrow. but, the install went off without a hitch.

hey reboot that thing and see what you get on quadrant!! i wanna see if mine is higher! :D

make sure to take it out of debug mode, and turn batt to performance mode, and unhook from pc..
