Yeah, I've found this whole question of virus or security app, do we need it or not, a little difficult to get a handle on. Actually, I'm more concerned with the whole permissions thing than I am with viruses. I guess the approach to take is to find an app that addresses a specific concern, as you did regarding the locator feature. But in order to get that feature what negative impact does running the app have on the phone?

BTW, I like your avatar image.

right now I am running it on two phones...mine and my son's....it seems to have no affect at all. It shows up with a pretty low percentage of battery usage.

it's pretty slick...I can find out where he is at all times (he is 10 and walks home from school etc)

He also loves maps and is learning how to read them so he txts me and asks if I can see where he is etc haha.

I can make his phone sound an alarm (I actually do this when he fails to answer texts or calls from us lmao)

the only drawback...none of that works if he isn't connected to data.

for my phone it is mainly there to access his phone, but I could do all of the above on any of our devices that have it installed (assuming they have a data connection and gps)

I turned off the anti malware options...I check the permissions of my apps before I download and install them
