Root Bl**dy SD Cards and Gparted

so having now got gparted to work i can obviously format my new SD card with a 1GB partition, my question for the day is how do i copy the old partitioned data off of my existing SD card??
Could i simply make a Nandroid backup of my current setup on the phone, copy this off of my existing card to the pc then copy the nandroid backup up onto the new card with the bigger partition and restore the nandroid through recovery?

Help as always gratefully recieved.
exactly that

So the nandroid recovery contains all the music and pictures and all the data that is on the phone!?!?

That would make my life so easy surely there must be a catch?

oh ok, there was me hoping for the easiest of easy life!! he he

So by restoring the Nandroid backup it will effectively restore what is hidden within the EXT partition.

Thanks guys I will have to give it a try when I get home from work.

no

so you do a nandroid and copy All the data of the current SDCARD
format and partition your new one
Copy the old sdcard contents to the new card
insert it, boot to recovery and restore backup
sorted

Success at last!!!! I now have my new memory card installed all data transfered fairly painlessly, althought the restore fromt eh nandroid backup seem to take a long time!

Now have 850MB of free A2SD card and just over 12Gb on the SD card to fill with music and stuff.

Thanks for all the guidance and suggestion as always!
