Alex_l

Newbie
Guys, please help, I just received a message to update OS to 2.29.405.2.
I have updated everything, my phone restarded 3 times and it stuck with black sreen with the message:
Sorry!
Process system is not responding.
Force close or wait

I don't know what to do now. Please help.

Not working. Any other tips? Thanks. I did a hard rest. Not helping:confused:

I was going to say hard reset next.

I can't think of anything. I'm going to move this to the Support area and give it its own thread to gain attention.

If that's a problem for you - PM me - but, I think it's in your best interest for us to broaden your audience.

I have sent an e-mail to HTC support. Will see what they answer :(

I did some more steps and it didn't help. I have downloaded zip file update. Put it into root. Then went to RECOVERY Menu -> Apply sdcard: update.zip
I have got next message:
file_getprop ("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == ""htc_wwe/htc_bravo/bravo:2.2/FRF91/218634:user/release-keys"
E: Error in /sdcard/update,zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

And here is the response that I got from HTC.

Dear Alex,

Thank you for contacting us.

Concerning your issues with your device I can help you with that.

As you already have performed a Hard Reset on the PDA and you still have the same issues, we recommend you to contact our hotline to book your phone in for repair: 800700741

I trust that the above resolves your situation. If however you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for contacting HTC.

before you do try this
boot the device to hboot (voldown+power)
download this
Shipped ROMs
which is the same version and signed
run it from windows with the device connected (make sure the bootloader drivers are installed it will either say "My HTC" or "android bootloader interface"

it will wipe the device and install the OS

Thank you. I will try. And how come I will know that the bootloader drivers are installed? Will I loose my warranty if I do this step?

no as its the same version that was coming down over ota.
where did you get it from?
did you debrand it or was it purchased unbranded?

The only problem is that everything was deleted from my phone. I think there is an old backup on my SD. Is there any possibilities to restore it?

was this device rooted or something?
how did you back it up?
No, I ddin't root my divice. I think when I swtiched on my phone, all the backup data were deleted from the memory card too. Ok, in that case I should intsall everything from the very beginning. To move all my contacts to the phone. It's a shame I didn't do any backup to my PC before my system crashed down.

I always make sure all my contacts are synched with google to make sure i never loose them and i can carry them between phones easily

apps however are a bit of a pain but its only installing them etc

its one of the reasons why people root, so they can make system backups of the nand (the image of your entire phone) so if the event of failure arises then you can just restore the image
