I bought two extended batteries from Verizon online. One seems to be working fine and the other seems to be causing the BSOD. I'm wondering if Verizon will admit there is a problem with these batteries and whether they will exchange them. The easiest thing for me would be to take the battery to my local Verizon store for an exchange.
I've had 2 in 4-5 days. Pisses me off. Stock battery.

Never experienced this problem until yesterday but now it is recurring frequently requiring battery pull. Rooted with theory rom 2.0 and white experience; stock battery; launcher pro plus.

So, I am usually pretty luck in the sense that I have only had this problem twice since getting the phone. However today I installed 2 apps, and about 30 min later I got one. Keep in mind it could be a total coincidence but:

1. I installed widgetlocker (likely the culprit if it is indeed an app issue)
2. I installed My Verizon. Since this comes pre-installed on most phones it would explain why this problem is on stock phones as well. (I.E. Without widgetlocker/root)

happened to me today for the 3rd time. battery pull fixed the issue. running stock gingerbread, non-rooted, with extended battery in performance mode.

i have sent 2 "bugs2go" reports to the motorola forums email address. they responded pretty quick and were appreciative. hopefully they find a fix and include it with the supposed November updates.

I had this problem as well. It started happening about once every 2 days. I decided it had to be a software conflict. I went into settings and wiped the sd card clean and the 8gb internal storage clean. Rebooted and did an entire reset of all the data. Turned the phone on and it was in it's orginal form. The little android icon pops up wanting you to activate phone. Put in all my apps and the phone hasn't had the BSOD since I did this. It has been over a month and all is well. Phone is rooted. I hope this will help people. Would like to hear back from people if this works. I have the extended battery as well.

For me the culprit was my stock battery, I haven't had a bsod or reboot since i got the battery swapped last friday.
