Blade scratch test vs Epic 4g

I accidentally rubbed my phone on a necklace i was wearing and now I have a scratch on my screen! So they DO scratch! It barely touched it -- now i'm stuck with an inch long scratch! Sucks that Gorilla glass didn't do it's job BUT I will admit you can't even tell I have the scratch unless you turn the screen off and look in the direct light. :)

Was it a diamond necklace?

i have a few scratches on my screen that are visible enough to notice but not affect how the screen looks...well maybe one but its not a big deal..not sure when or where it happened maybe its all the loose diamonds i keep in my pocket since nothin else can scratch it according to some

Or sand
Or glass

just giving examples ... was more responding to the posters... the loose diamonds in his pockets...

i might even go as far as to say.. it is more likely to have pieces of glass in his pocket.. than loose diamonds.

maybe im a jewler or was involved in a diamond heist you dont know what i do....but it definitely wasnt glass or sand...just sayin

i did say.. more likely..

but ok.. you ballin with pockets full of ice. cool...thats how you roll... (roll eyes) :D

This is all well and good, but thanks to Eazail70x7, I now have that high voice in my head: "Ooo-uh! Ooo-uh! Ooo-uh! Eh! I don't like you! A-h-h-h-h-h! Y-a-a-a-a-h. . . ."

You know I understand that our phones are pretty much scratch proof with gorilla glass, but mine already has 3 scratches on it and I'm really anal about my phone so I don't even know how they got there. They are hard to see, so I don't really care but still, its knowing that they are there. For that reason, I ordered a screen protector haha.
me too i got some hardly noticeable scratches on mine too... covered it with a screen protector...

it is not scratch proof!!!

Got mine on release day, no screen protector, and I do have a tiny scratch. It is not bad. I only noticed it because I use the hell out of my phone.

Btw, my best guess is that it was scratched by sliding the phone into my front jeans pocket, and it rubbed against those brass thingees that stick out.

I would guess it was more likely..
some sand or grit that has small glass in it....on your jeans..
as you slide it in.

I generally use the back pocket. No idea how sand could get in there. I just don't know. And I doubt I noticed it when it actually happened, so there is no telling.

This screen is amazingly tough. I'm a clutz, so for it to only have 1-2 almost completely unnoticeable scratches after 6 months with no case and no screen protector..amazing!

Just bought 2nd Epic for my wife a few weeks ago. As we were purchasing the case and extra battery, the rep was _really_ pushing the screen protectors. When I told her that Epics don't need these because it has Gorilla Glass, she looked at me like I grew a second head or something. I showed her my Epic that I bought on release day and said, "See, no scratches". She said there's scratches all over it. I polished it up a bit with my t-shirt. "No scratches." She said she could see little tiny scratches all over it. I gave it my best shine, squinted, "NO SCRATCHES!" She still insisted she could see scratches.

I told her that a) Your vision must be much better than mine, because I can't see any scratches; and b) the screen protectors reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen and you shouldn't use them if you don't really need them. I saw a little light go off in her head, but she said, "Well my Epic works just fine". Right. We didn't purchase the screen protectors.

You can only see the scratches on mine with the screen on, and it has to be certain background color behind the specific spot. You can run your finger over them and not feel them, but if you run a fingernail over them, you can feel them.

Mine finally got a scratch...right in the middle, not cool. Still, I've never seen a phone with a screen protector that didn't look terrible (obvious). I'm sticking with a bare screen.

My HTC hero hasn't had a screen protector since it was replaced about 4 months ago. Not a single scratch to be seen. Gotta love the new glass screens

I don't care what that video says. I scratched the screen and I don't know how I did it. So screen protector for me.
