Root Blew Out my Mic-This Blows

Cleaned my phone by blowing it off with an air hose. Apparently that's not a good idea as I've blown out my phone mic. Now, I can only talk through speaker phone. This Blows!

Does SBF remove all traces of root? Do I need to factory reset before and/or after SBF?

Air hose like air compressor (gas station) or like can of air you use to clean your computer?

I just had to get a replacement, the bottom 1/8 of an inch of my screen just started freaking out. I SBF'd back to .340 and then took the OTA Gingerbread update, factory reset and sent it back in.

Also when you get your new one you will have to SBF back to .340 in order to root it and do what you want with it then because it will come with the Gingerbread update that can not be rooted yet.

Been awhile, so I'm double checking my process.

1. SBF to Froyo
2. Root with z4Root
3. Install Rom Mgr Premium
4. Flash latest CM7 Nightly
5. Enjoy

Is that it? Seems so easy now. :D

Like a air compressor. It really did get all the dust out too. :D

ok i must give you some advice on this

air compressor vs computer equipment = very bad idea
canned air vs computer equipment = good idea
air compressor vs mechanical equipment = very good idea
canned air vs mechanical equipment = you need to rethink this

Maybe its just me but something doesnt seem right. When on speaker you use the same mic to speak as you would when not on speaker. So if its works when on speaker your mic is not blown out. Sounds like maybe a software issue? Maybe your automaticly muting some how? Or am I misunderstanding the problem?

There are several mikes on the DX, used for noise cancelling, etc. Maybe he's using one of the other ones?

Canned air vs. brain cells....super bad idea

I used an air compressor to clean out my old desktop computer once. I felt like Peter Griffin, "Look at those fans spin baby". Then I put everything back together nice and purdy. Then my fans wouldn't spin no more. Oh crap.

It looked like a good idea at the time.

I've done that before plenty if times, but my fans always worked afterward :D

Air compressors are fine as long as you don't go full blast and allow time to dry in case you blow moisture on delicate components.......but compressed air is always better :D

On speaker you use the mic at the top of the phone. I figured this out when people said they couldn't hear me when I talked into the normal mic.

Plus I wanted to find out by tapping each mic while on speaker. :p

Hey what can I say. I was a kid in a candy store. I got a little carried away. I'm no rocket scientist but I'ma gonna say I used a wee bit too much force on them there fans......:D
