You can uninstall bloatware when you buy a new PC but why cant you uninstall it on an Android device?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
This. Even if you don't care about custom ROMS/themes/etc rooting is worth it just for this reason. Besides it's so stupidly easy there's really no disadvantage.

dude i hear your fustration and it was the only reason i even bothered to learn how to root my phone, so i remove those apps.
Hm... I'll have to search around for that. So it is possible to root my phone, remove the bloat, then unroot it?You can always unroot.
Anyone know which .apk to rename to remove the stock Calendar?

You don't delete the files, just rename them.
Yea, I decided to root anyway and I renamed a bunch of .apk file to .bak so when an update hits or I need to take my phone in I can change them back and remove the superuser.apk. After I restore it it should be back to factory. For now I'll just leave it rootedIt is possible to do this. There are problems with this since the bloat is gone its easy for someone at vzw to see that you were once rooted. Also not having the bloat generally borks future OTAs so you would have reroot and replace the bloat.
You can get back to stock using sbf files though.
Thanks for the info
