block internet access for certian games?

so I have a huge problem with Angry Birds - the stupid adds are in the way and the frame rate is slow as hell

I noticed that when I am in Airplane mode I dont have any adds or a slow frame rate

so how do I block the internet access for this game and turn it on again when I have to get an update? - turning on airplane mode every time isnt useable since I forget to turn it back to normal again

I have looked for the hacked version of this game that has the adds removed and I even emailed the developer telling them that I cant play this with the adds there anymore and that I was going to look for the hacked version or give me a paid version that has no adds!

I just want to block internet for this game and allow it when I say to


furthermore I want to do this for every single app I have, I want a dialog box asking me if I want to allow access to the internet as I do for location based things

I come from a linux background so I can handle terminal if needed
 
If you are rooted, check out MIUI at forums.miui-dev.com

Their latest release has a "Traffic Monitor" that lets you block certain apps accessing data, or only allowing them to send/receive data over wifi. Could come in handy!

that sounds like what I will have to do - I wanted to root in order to use the teathering app without paying for something that I will probably use like 1 or times a month at most

stupid that in order to get something to work properly, after seeing if it was for pay and it wasnt I have to hack to get it to work properly

I dont even know why I even try to go the legal route anymore with things like this - I should just get pirated copies of everything - I paid for a game on my PC and there was a problem with the DRM, I spent 3 weeks calling and emailing the company and searching online before I came across a way to hack it, there were all sorts of other users on forums having the same problem I was having and nothing from the company would help - so I just hacked the game to get it to work, and guess what, I also dont have to pay for updated content for this game either because even if I wanted to it wouldnt work with my hacked copy
 
I don't understand why you don't want to pay the developers. I mean they gave you such a great and huge game for free and the ads aren't that intrusive, I played it for hours and have never pressed a banner by mistake. I understand your point with the DRM game, but manipulating free games so they are no better then your average stolen copy is a big screw you to all developers, who try to make the free ad supported model work.

well since angry birds doesent have a paid version I CANT!

and its not about the adds - it about them being at the top now instead of at the bottom as well as making the frame rate drop - they get in the way all the time and I cant see my birds flying - a friend who played it on my phone who has an iphone said it sucked like this and why didnt i get the paid version - I would if there was one

its crap, the frame rate sucks when the adds are up but as soon as they are gone its back to normal - I emailed the developers over at rivio (or whatever its called) and asked for a paid version because of these adds getting in the way and I was told that there isnt one - I also mentioned how I got the hacked version that has no adds and I would rather not use that but they still told me there is no way to remove the adds or to put them back at the bottom where they were before

That and alot of these games are reporting back to companies your serial number, zipcode and buying habits.
 
Actually if you have a custom rom you can disable the internet while still being able to receive calls. Ill see if I can get a screenshot and post it, I am on the road right now and im sure if I can do it till I get home in a few hours.

Its the one with 121828 numbers in the file name.
 
That is a basic function for Android, you can always cut Internet through the net settings and just phone around. He wants to prevent selected apps from accesing the net.

actually that is the most important thing to me

I dont like tracking of any type by cookies and such so this is becoming a problem for me

I have to hack my phone just to get the privacy that is my right - I have do what could be considered "illegal" in order to protect my self - stupid as hell, but I am a full on pirate now - I have paid for everything in the past and been screwed many times with drm and such so another pirate is born
