Root [boost] Hotspot without root

Okay guys so I was playing around today and discovered something interesting. If you download apex launcher from the play store and go to your app drawer you can go the wifi hotspot app and enable it and it works fully. Enjoy

I have that unlocked in my upcoming Rom. As well as the hotspot and tether options in settings. Bluetooth tether and USB tether work as well.

Tried this out. It connected. But no Internet. Using a Vista laptop.

My buddies smartphone stopped on getting ip address.

It didn't work for me either but I was already rooted and already had wifi tether installed and working so I didn't dwell on it. Time to root imho.

My phone came with the wifi hotshot app already installed. I've talked to others who didn't get it as part of their phones software. I wonder why?

Yep, mine has it too, works well.

Guspeed told me that you have to have a different launcher such as ADW, etc in order for the wifi hotshot to show. For some reason it won't show up with the stock Sense launcher.

Ahh. I was wondering why mine didn't have it until I installed ADW EX.

Ok, I am running jb ota stock with nova launcher prime. I've tried the said hotspot app before with no luck. Just tried again (with no luck) it connects but says I have limited access plus no network access... So, didn't work for me hmmm

Guess I'll have to root etc darn. Lol

Trying to restore an infected windows 8 laptop for a buddy and need to access the web smh! Guess I will have to enable my Clear Wireless hotspot or root and the alike.... Or throw some clothes on & hit the coffee shop ;-) choices, choices, choices...... How'd u get this to work exactly?

my rom uses the factory android hotspot no extra apps needed. Im working on themeing the first version of the rom right now. It doing an miui themed rom with lots of miui apps ported over and the rest aosp. almost all sense elements removed. The second rom will be a senseless AOSenseP rom.

shin would there be any way of getting our own Pac rom i love that rom so much have it on my nexus hoping we could get it on here

hopefully u can make ur rom a universal htc one sv rom. I would love to be able to run ur rom on my htc k2plccl
