Root [Boost Mobile] Clockwork Recovery Builder

This has been out for a while but nobody here has really mentioned it (didnt know about it). Anyway this is by cwm and it can be used to create a cwm recovery for any phone super easy in like 2 steps. It has the touch option AND koush said it was updated to v6.

I have not had time to test anything out recently but i wanted to add this because i know that people were wanting a touch recovery.

Recovery Builder

@Shinru I don't think so seeing as how the LG Connect 4G has Touch CWM and its on GB 2.3.4

I think Koush has to make it into touch capable, correct me if I'm wrong.

I have been debating this topic for a while. Could the beta build of CWM be causing some of the problems we run into when we are trying to flash cm7/9? Could releasing a updated version of CWM be beneficial or just wasted time?

We have a working version of cwm, so what would be the point? Touch recovery would be more useful to a device with a lack of hardware keys

I agree with that, but would the new version maybe solve some of the problems we are running into with cm9? I highly doubt it but it is a possibility.

Slightly related here, but when I was using my Motorola Triumph a few months back, before I ditched VM for Boost....There were two recoveries:

TWRP

and of course CWM

Not all ROMS were compatible with both. E.G. there was this one that I flashed, it was a port of a Sharp ROM, using TWRP. Bootloops out the butt. But I flashed CWM, and flashed the same zip file, and it worked without a problem...

Just a thought, really.

Cm9 and cm7 issues have to do with the source. Ril is a pain to get working because we have nothing that is similar that we can compare it to, I've been working on cm7 builds for awhile, still no access to data, or phone. Quietstorm has made some progress on cm9 in that department, but still, we are working with source that has to be rewritten to work. And its a pain

I know it is, I did a little work with kernels and sources. not much though. Your work is much appreciated!

i was able to build two versions of CWM using the online builder. they both work fine but the screens are flipped. That's something you cant edit with the builder unfortunately. I will talk to Koush and see if that can be changed.

Interesting, I wonder if we are the only phone that has a screen with 180 degree rotation?

Was hoping zte had a way that made a crisper image or something... But then you give a more "zte" answer haha. Something they would do!

actually I think there are a couple of phones like ours, the motorola triumph, which uses the same wifi module, and the HTC thunderbolt. both are similar to ours in specs, and use a qualcomm ril, but the difference lies in the wifi module.. ima keep trying with cm7 first, then play some more with cm9. MAYBE, just maybe i can get RIL to work on both. with the cm7 build, I plan on doing the same thing I did for the cm9 ril, using a triumph mod that I found, it basically modifies the LGEQualcommRIL.java so that it doesnt look for RUIM. I also plan on trying to port some of the WIFI mods that they did to the source for triumph for our phone, since the triumph uses the same libra wifi module that ours does, even the .sh script files in the etc folder are alot alike. doing that, I might just be able to get wifi on cm7 working too... cm7 will be a start for us, and cm9-10 will be the finish. By the way, yes the cyanogenmod team has started work on cm10 too.

I had the triumph and it's very similar hardware wise to this phone. You may be able to pull the cm9 triumph build, and change the kernel and a few things and be set

Its never that easy, I wish you could take the files and stick your kernel onto it and have a rom for your phone. Hopefully google makes it like that in the future so us gingerbreadians can upgrade to new versions. However, its not like that currently :( so it takes a lot of coding just to get the rom to boot up

Never thought to look at the triumph source, nice find!
