Hi I'm new here, I just bought my Samsung Galaxy Prevail off the net the other day, got it a few days ago. I also just got setup with Boost Mobile a few days ago. I assumed their coverage was good out here where I live, but I haven't been able to get a great signal at all in my room or most of the house for that matter. Usually all grey bars with grey X on top.
However, in my bedroom on top floor, I opened the bedroom window and put cell out the window about 2 feet, I got two full bars and the 3G icon appeared for my signal. I come back in the room by my computer desk that's at least 6 feet from window, and no bars no nothing.
I also have Verizon prepaid phone, and get great reception with it. But the phone is breaking and I'm tired of paying 20.00 a month for unlimited, and then whatever else is remaining on acct balance is going for 25 cents per pic and video message and 99 cent daily use fees. >_<. Is there a way to maybe use a hybrid prl / maybe verizon's towers with my boost cell?
As I'm really only using the cell to text and do updates and etc from home. I generally just use the house phone to make normal calls. But it really sucks to pay 2 dollars unlimited daily or 55.00 monthly unlimited. To not have any texting at all. It sucks. It's almost like I'm right on the very edge of Boost's tower receiving end. >_<.
I also already bought and not yet mount the Passive Repeater antenna I got off eBay for 10.98... And also won a zBoost for 80.00 off eBay, and still waiting on that too. This really sucks, because I love this phone, and investing so much into it getting all these things for it. And not to use it really any except for the Wifi blows... Any suggestions? Any PRLs I could maybe use? Again, I have good reception here for my verizon prepaid phone, but it's breaking. My exwife had Boost Mobile before and always lost reception/signal here by house. I guess I'll have to return the phone, cancel my services with Boost Mobile and try selling off this used zBoost I just got in mail today too.
