I decompiled my launcher/system files and edited the default settings strings. Then I recompiled them.
 
I am trying a zip with updated updater, I compared the one in the template to what the kitchen thought I should have and there was one missing symlink for rm and 5 missing permissions I think...

I wonder if RM is remove for root explorer, just a hunch, the permissions were around bluetooth and ip... interesting since a lot of ROMS have bluetooth issues.

Now here is a couple of issues I've run across with the zips that have been provided that were deodexed b08c. Thank you to Mr bobo, without this we wouldn't have such a great base to start off of. If anyone else needs to be thanked, please pm me, I do not mean no not include you.
Issues:
1. Root Explorer does not delete, other explorers work, but for some reason, this one doesn't
2. UOT doesn't work correctly. For me it caused boot loops. Manual theming didn't work, same results.

I'm sure there are more, please post and I'll update the op.

All I'm attempting to do is to bring us together and sort these things out.
So lets please refrain from negative posts about anyone's roms. And any new finds/features you find are welcome.

I don't have issues using UOT besides for two, but I think these are universal to b08c and not related to the zip or deodexing:

signal icon not named correctly
boot animation not put in right location

both of these can be corrected manually, I have had no bootloops, but I have heard that some boot animations can cause this, again I don't think that is specific to the stock b08c deodexed zip.

Its not Mrbobo that is due to uot :D and both are easy fixes
 
In uot, on the boot animation page , there is a drop down box to select where it goes, select cyanogen . Signal icons are a manual theme, as you know, I wonder if we email them, they'll fix it?
 
I have a flashable zip to just fix symlinks and permissions for stock b08c based roms if anyone wants it, I am going to post it on the n00b ROM thread in a few minutes to correct the root explorer issue. Beats starting from scratch just to fix symlinks and permissions for roms based on the b08c deodexed zip.

this may be a fix for the bluetooth issues on some ROMs, can someone investigate that for me, I don't know which ones had the issue, I assume many of us used the templates for our ROMs without modifying the updater-script much so this may be a widespread issue that's just gone un noticed.

Sorry the data issues were boost mobile upgrading their service, apparently 30 states lost data for 5 hours. That's what the rep said. All good now
 
Updated op. I'd like to open up this to a multiple DEV help thread, or sharing of new and exciting things that you thing will integrate well with the rom you are working on.

Great Idea... a dev sub forum to keep all of these dev threads visible... or at least have this stickied if that's not possible... or I could maybe have my rom forum changed into a team forum for us...

a dev sub-forum would be nice but would do no good if it isn't locked to rom developer, guide, premium, moderator access only. Otherwise it will get like all things root

I agree with that i am willing to turn my sub-forum into a developer forum for us but if it gets outta hand like the all things root section then it will become locked to anyone who isnt dev guide premium moderator status :D
If everyones okay with that i will clean it up in there and shinru can move all the development threads there :D since those threads are dev only normal users have no need of them :D

That's why I think it would be good for us to use my sub forum... its secluded and away from the other warp users... so only the ones that actually have a hand in devopement will know about it and be able to use it
