Root [Boost Mobile] Flashlight

I've tried both "Tiny Flashlight + LED" and "Brightest Flashlight" and the screen works but my camera LED is not working.

Does anyone having this issues and know how to fix it? I've messed around with all the settings I know of but still no luck.

Some flash apps do not work with our ZTE Warp.
I am using "Root Toolbox". To turn on flash light: open app, then Other\Flash Light\Light On, works perfect.

I have tiny flashlight working on my phone. You need to download rootdim version 1.56 from the market or from RootDim-156.apk - superdim - RootDim 1.56 - Dim Android displays for night vision protection - Google Project Hostinghttp://code.google.com/p/superdim/downloads/detail?name=RootDim-156.apk&can=2&q=.

To get my tiny flashlight to work I simply have to open then close rootdim prior to attempting to open tiny flashlight after every restart (I do a battery pull once a week I haven't had any lock-ups since I have owned the phone.) then it is good to go. It is much easier to use tiny flashlight than to rootdim or root toolbox (got both don't like root toolbox love root dim both are different.) to control the led.

look at this tiny flashlight 4.0 update works unstable though

Just my $.02 and experience with the apps.

I've tried but still didn't work. There is a newer version, 1.57, but no luck with that either.

PS...There is a setting in RootDim called "Other lights" and the flashlight does work when it's set it to ON.

Edit 1:
OK updated to rootdim 1.57 rootdim still works and tiny flashlight still works.

Edit 2:
The flashlight setting under the other lights menu in rootdim must be set to system default not off. The off setting will prevent tiny flashlight from working.

Original message:
Try to force close tiny flashlight, clear
cache, clear application data, open rootdim, use the back button home key and then use tiny flashlight. I just rebooted my phone and opened rootdim then tiny flashlight mine still works like a charm.

I don't know if it matters or not but I am rooted and have the original b06 operating system on my phone. I get the update failed message when I try to OTA update so I figured if it doesn't give me problems leave it alone.

I do not know if the newest version of rootdim works or not. I do know 1.56 works. will update and edit my post in a few minutes.

I got it to work!!!

I've tried force close, clear apps, cache, and etc and nothing worked. I uninstalled both RootDim and flashlight apps and reinstalled it. Maybe the RootDim must be installed first?

I'm on the same boat as you. I'm also rooted, B06, and tried OTA update.

Thanks for the help but I do have a question. Is your Tiny flashlight bright? I've notice the flashlight through the RootDim is really bright compare to the Tiny flashlight. (noticeable difference.)

Mine is noticible dimmer as well but I see it two ways; 1 it being dimmer saves battery and runs cooler, 2 it is usually bright enough and when its not I use rootdim or a real flashlight. I really like the convenience of the shake on screen lock activate and how easy it is to activate so I will keep using it for my primary flashlight.

Helping isn't a problem here soon I will need my fair share of it. Hoping for a new cm7/9 setup and have no cwm/rom experience. Wish me luck.

Glad it wasn't just me.

when its not I use rootdim or a real flashlight.

Haha...I try not to carry a real flashlight, just hope that I don't trip and fall on my face. :D

Look like your phone has pretty much same settings as mine, root, b06, and etc. I've messed around with CWM and CM7 on my Prevail and it was fun to play around with it for sure.

Thanks again for your help!!!

so i installed rootdim 1st then tiny flashlight both versions stated here, but the led comes on for like a sec or two and then turns off

Did you do it like this?

Open rootdim - click "Other lights" - click "flashlight" - click "On" (to make sure the issue isn't the LED itself
Go back into "Other lights" - "flashlight" and click "system default"

Now try your flashlight app again.

That's the way I do it after every battery pull or reboot and it's working fine with the app "Flashlight" v4.6 and rootdim v1.58.

I do the exact same thing, I can't wait till someone fixes it. lol.... I love the warp...

I use tiny flashligth+led first i install root dim set flashligth test it work mine work great.the usin tiny press flashligth power

thats what i've done, used rootdim, go into other lights flashlight, then click on, it goes one but turns off, does it like im taking a pics basically, then i install tiny flashlight, and it turns on but it does the same that it did in rootdim, turns on then off, kinda like im taking a picture, can't figure it out, and ive even turned off the flash in my camera to see if that was affecting it

Could your phone somehow have "un-rooted" itself?

I can't think of anything else besides a non- or un- rooted phone causing this.

Maybe some other app conflicting?

My combination is still working flawlessly as stated above. Although on occasion if I do something stupid to the phone and have to restore with titanium backup I have to uninstall and reinstall tiny flashlight for it to work. For those who don't think the little extra effort is worth it to make it work... the shake on screen lock feature and the flashlight widget make this application worth the effort. I absolutely hate it when I have rebooted the phone or done something stupid to it and forgot to open root dim before trying to use tinyflashlight. It is just so convenient and it uses less battery than root dim because the led is only powered about 75% as much as root dim. Just my $.02...
