Something is still keeping your fps caped. You should be getting 80+ area on the spiral. When mine was around 70 it was still smooth too. That's why I think if shin or somebody can make the cap 70 we'd be set.

Hmm... maybe I'm using a different tweak than they. But I know my score jumped drastically when I enabled it.

IMO the only thing that would benefit from a higher refresh rate would be to see who gets the highest benchmark score for fun. Video standards across all platforms is 50-60Hz and going above that is just degrading overall screen/video performance.
