OK Im trying to download Google play services but it keeps saying something about android I'd and won't install? What do I do

What service? Play store? Play music?...also what specifically is the error message?

I'm not sure, all I know is its an app called Google play services , and it's needed to run certain apps like youtube. And the error messege only came up once and said "error android id is not the same". Now every time I try to install it just says " app not installed ". This happens after I reflashed ctmod

I downloaded but Google play services wasn't in it, the zip only contains apps that can't be downloaded from play store

All I can suggest is try another rom...I personally never cared for ctmod much. I wont knock it as I'm sure it's great for some...just not me

Also, did you try clearing /data and /cache? And Dalvik cache too.

I thought Google Play Service was one of those apps that run in the background, that Google self installs on phones to use the updated Play Store?... Maybe 2 months ago it popped up on my phone, cant uninstall it cause it reloads itself when i go to the play store. Not real sure what it does, but I noticed an increase in ads so I currently have it "froze" thanks to Titanium Backup!

The comments at the play store on this app are very telling!!
Ya in fact some of them say the same thing as in this thread... or that its useless or that it takes up too much space... not a single positive comment...

It just adds some additional api hooks and stuff for Google services. It really doesn't seem to be anything malicious. I have it installed by default on my ROM and have never seen any foul play.

I just wanted it because some of the newest updates on some apps won't run without it. Its no big deel tho I just downloaded the old versoins

here, I had to resign it to work with CT: com.google.android.gms-2.apk
just throw it in /system/app on your phone and reboot then you should be good.

Some browsers change the file extension when you download apk's, just rename it back to apk after you dl it.
The file above work " com.google.android.gms-2.apk " comes through as "deleted" when I try to access...I am having the same problem as described above on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, 'incompatible with other application(s) using the same shared user ID.'....HELP!!!!!

Are you having this problem with the warp? I think that file is meant for the ct mod rom. I doubt it work on a different phone or ROM
