Root [Boost Mobile] [HELP]Think I just fried my phone...

smartmanvartan

Android Expert
I was doing some testing while at work got distracted and left my phone on the charger set to sio performance 1804mhz... Came back to my phone two and half hours later and i had a very hot phone with a blinking red led... Let it cool but now its dead and if i plug it in I get the blinking red led and that seems to be the only sign of life at the moment... Is there hope? has anyone recovered from this?

Oh Boy, I don't know about this one smartmanvarten:confused:. I guess you should let that baby sit for a while, maybe try another battery? You may have done it in though.:(

It's ok!! it's ok... I got it back.. nobody panic... :p... It's cool... "note to self: do not leave your phone on max speed performance for two and a half hours"... and now back to more testing :p

I've been there! It happened a few times on the faster 1.8 GHz setting (back when "1.8 GHz" was about 1856 MHz or so) when plugged into my computer and also wi-fi tethering. My wall charger never did it, for some odd reason. I always propped it up in front of my AC for a few minutes, and problem solved! Thank goodness for thermal protection :)

Take the battery out of the phone. Plug up to a charger with battery out. Make sure its pluged to the wall not a usb power source ie computer. After screen turns on and splash.img comes up just put battery in and let it charge. When screen is black and red led blinks it means the phone is to dead to come on at first when the charger is plugged up. This normally happens after tethering while overclocked @ a high cpu frequency or the phone hasnt been used in a while and has been dead for weeks or months at a time.. if i help hit thanks.

that happened to me once while using wifi tethering. I had to pull the battery out and I put it on top of a bag of ice because it was so hot it burned my hand lolol.
