Hello guys I was wondering about dual booting backtrack on my rooted warp I have an app called complete Linux installer downloaded I downloaded everything it needs I am waiting on the 808mb image file to finish but I just wanted a spectrum on my capabilities with this program I already have a task to do on my list and that is hack my friends wifi so he can reset his password I follow very strictly the ethical hacker rule number one "hack only what belongs to you and anything else have express permission" but beyond this and yes I know its a stupid reason to hack his wifi but lets just call my friend a special kind of lazy hahaha anyways what are further capabilities or should I look to the deep web for my answers

Why doesn't he just reset his router? It seems a lot easier and faster than this.

Near as I can tell our wifi chipset is a qrf8600...though I admit I could be wrong lol.

Here's my results from dmesg | grep -i lan
Code:
# dmesg | grep -i lan

That said...I can find no information on that chipset other than a generic listing on a qualcomm chinese website. More to the point AircrackNG which is what Backtrack uses to crack wep obviously doesn't support that chipset.

Do you guys know of any boost mobile androids that support packet injection here's a list
Samsung galaxy epic 4g
HTC design 4g
kyocera hydro
Samsung ultra
Samsung galaxy prevail
any of theses support what I'm trying to do I kinda feel stupid for sitting three hours waiting for it to download now and resetting the router is what I suggested but like I said he is a special kind of lazy

go to the AircrackNG site and look at compatibility...that gives a list of the various chipsets that it works with...then try and find as much info on each phone as you can about its wifi...I doubt that any phone through boost mobile is going to be capable of what you want though. Even high end phones don't usually have wifi chipsets that would be capable of doing what you want...my suggestion is get a laptop or pc with backtrack or some other linux variant with the aircrack suite and one of the usb wifi modules they suggest on their site.

It is not about high end or low end when it comes to bt. It is about if the chipset is supported.

If your chipset is common and not on the higher end of the price structure plus easy to work with it'll work. I had this one pc card from Dell (broadcom chipset) worked for bt3 like a beast! The laptop's internal chipset (intel) didn't work well. Packet injection was not happening.

I wanted to see if it would work before and I might try again. I have a warp, a Design, a 4g and a Prevail. I just need some motivation. Last time I started it up I got distracted... lol. Yeah. I know happens too often.

My point was that as far as i could determine the warp doesn't appear to have a supported chipset. Other phones may have ti, broadcomm, etc.

Why not a laptop, I had one setup with *features* cough cough and backtrack back in the day ;)

Well its just like the people trying to port android to a laptop, Google it, I myself don't see the point, but someone else's opinion on the topic is just as valid ;)

Well as I mentioned before I had a laptop that could do the job in minutes... but lugging it about was not really all that easy. Now having a phone that could do that and had a "dual boot setup" could very well be a much more portable and feasible option.

And to address the Epic 4g question. I have a bunch of phones. Not all of them are for Boost. Some even for Verizon. Have a few Sprint too. BTW. The one I have is the Epic 4g but the one coming out for Boost is the Epic 4g Touch/Galaxy Sii.

Lol...I'm about to get my ethical hacking cert. Although you can get your friends router reset very easily...message me if you need assistance.

lol anyone heard of the reset button on a router...... can and will reset to factory defaults when pushed, released, then held until lights flash. :p
