Root [Boost Mobile] hotspot?

has anyone figured out how to get a wifi hotspot with the warp yet? trying to get wifi tether to my tablet from my warp...
 
Yes I use it all the time.. I'm assuming you're rooted.. Download the free app called wifi tether. Put the widget on a home screen and tap the widget. Then you have a hot spot you can even put a password on it and change the name. Requires superuser permissions. Thank if i helped you
 
This will only work if the tablet sees ad-hoc mode. We have yet to get any tether to work in infrastructure mode.
 
Yeah my password has never worked but are u saying tablets won't pick up our wifi tether?? I tether to a laptop and I can assure it works I use it every day

He said some don't not all. For those that don't you can replace the wifi suplicant file (at least that's what I did on my girls galaxy player)
 
No the tablet does NOT need to be rooted also guys i have picked up sone useful information bouncing around the forum you all may or may not know about this
Foxfi has an add-on not sure on the details but i will dig into it more :)
 
Thanks for that.. I tried FoxFI with the addon last night and as soon as tried to enable foxfi my warp frooze and had to pull battery.. However Boost has foxfi blocked from the play store.. But if anybody wants it I will upload foxfi and addon..
 
Thats wat i figured.ive tried every tethering app i can think of.thats why i started the thread..to see if any1 ever came across anything new...
 
The problem isnt tethering to my comp.its getting my tablet to get wifi.i know android dosent pik up wifi adhoc.there has to be a way to get a infrastructr
 
barnacle wifi. it's a hotspot app. it's free, and best yet it's wireless. my buddy's wifi at his house sucked so i had to plug my phone in, throw it on the roof because he lives in the boondocks. and game like a pro.
 
I gamed off mine for quite a while because I couldn't afford cable/internet. It kills your battery so fast and if you plug it up and tether then your phone gets BLAZING hot. There are always downsides to tricks, but if it's not illegal and we can keep the temp down then have at it.

By the way the temp shouldn't get over 100 degrees. If you do then unplug your phone.. Cut off the wifi and let it air out. DO NOT remove battery. Just take off the back case and let it breathe.

How did u set it up to make it work on your game?
 
The "wifi tether app" from the market is what I was using. I used it on my prevail. Since then I have gotten cable back, and upgraded to zte warp. I'm sorry for the confusion.
