Root [Boost Mobile] Hroark Kernel Over-clock bug reports

i'm runnin .7 1.6oc no bugs yet force closed temple run once, very smooth 20 hours run time running bo8b great work hoark and shin!

edit: phone just froze, pulled battery good to go

The link for .11 Oc 16 is bad.

The service issues seem to be linked to the wifi. It only happens when I have it on.

I removed all the OC kernels I uploaded

I got very frustrated yesterday and decided to pull them.

I should have not released them in the first place

i should have just stuck to testing the kernel with no OC

I have a feeling that it is going to be hard to release just a stand alone kernel

I think they will need to be released with a ROM, so that the dev can test everything and there are not so many variables

We also need testers to give more details and be able to answer questions

This isnt related to the OC, but I'm still having issues with wifi. It will start and connect to my router but I get no internet connectivity at all

Anyone else experiencing this? It could just be with the kernel i compiled

try using that ROM I posted in the other thread and see if you have the same issue

I think it has to do with the b08c update. Cant say for sure but I run b08b and have none of the issues experienced by you guys. Of my kernel has some stuff hroarks doesnt like swap support and memory compaction

Well i will roll back to bo8b and try it again, where do i get your oc kernel? Cant seem to find where it is posted?

Were behind you 100% whatever you dacide, and does this mean you putting out a rom:D and testers:wavey:right here

Went to shinzitsu rom after flashing to b08 stock and phone froze with both 7 and 11 overclock kernels... i also noticed with the oc kernels that if you put the wifi on and let the phone lock and unlocked it after a couple minutes the phone had no cell signal and it doesnt come back until you shut down wifi. The 7 kernel with no oc works fine... no freezes or signal isdues

Hmmm maybe its just because I developed the oc and the rom, but I have none of the issue I have seen mentioned here. But I will look into it.

That's because it is not posted. There is only a few ways to get my kernel and both consist of a rom download

I think that is the best way to do it too

this way there will be less compatibility issues and stuff

less variables to consider

i just want to say i too have noi real problems.i am running your rom. 1.5 which i think is great. i have been running it since the day it came out.i have the 7 kernel with the oc. i have no real complaints. i had to pull the battery 1 time but i have since discovered that it was the led notification on my facebook app, only when charging and only when i get message when the screen is off. i disabled it and have no prbblems since. i use set cpu and have it set anywhere from 1024MHz (stock i know) to 1209MHz so not nothing to wild.

edit... ok so as soon as i posted this i figureed that i would start installing the rest of my apps, i have over 200 apps and i just wanted to make sure everything was going smooth before i took that journey, for some reason cwm dosent always restore my apps so i do it the long way with tb. so when i installed this kernel i did a factory reset first, just to start out "fresh". i installed a few apps to test the kernel. it worked fine for the last 24 hrs right up untill i made this post. i figured everything was going good enough to install the rest of my apps and thats when my phone started to freeze. almost everytime i tried to install an app the phone froze up and i had to pull the battery.now that i have a few apps on my phone it keeps freezing while doing this my phone was at 1209MHz

Running stock B08c and the .7 oc kernel on a Warp purchased in Nov. 2011. No issues yet after a few hours of use. I cannot test vibe functions however because.the.vibe on this device has not worked in over 3 months.

Over 24 hours of use now still no problems. I have not had a single freeze up or anything. No WiFi issues either. Still running stock B08c with the .7 oc kernel that Hroark has now removed. Using No Frills CPU set to 1.613 GHz and stats show it has run that speed 94.13% of the time phone has been active since last reboot when I installed the kernel. All apps that I have tested have worked. Will continue testing tomorrow.

Look I wouldn't get too down on your efforts here. This is the Warp forum anything that works is much appreciated! The biggest issue with the ROM builders and their ROM's has been the issue of stability. Even with the stock kernel they have done wonders. A custom kernel that is stable and helps bring about other ROMs is not work done in vain. Overall, from the comments it looks like the OC kernel is doing well (at least well enough to fine tune). I think the biggest issue is that we have a slew of people on different firmwares (B08, B08b, B08c) and that creates more problems than is typical, and given the chaotic nature of the Warp in general I am surprised it is not far worse. Again, saying that, thanks for all you do....anything is much appreciated. ;)

I am not really down on my efforts

I think just being able to get the kernel source code to actually boot the phone was a major accomplishment

I agree, there is a lot of strange things going on with the Warp

It seems ZTE there may be a couple of different hardware revisions out there, and there seems to be enough difference between the ROM revisions to make one thing work with the kernel on one ROM, and not work on another revision of the ROM

I think between firmware/hardware we will find the issue somewhere in the middle...

can you guys who have the OC working confirm your phone shows the same hardware revision as mine in the settings/about phone menu? c4tB

also, in voltage control under device info what do you see for the processor, does it match mine:

processor: armv7 processor rev 2 (v71)

Yes same

Here is what i figured for myself that is. In restored wp7 2.3.0 then flashed kernel .7 of. Been running stable at 1401

Maybe one way to narrow alot of these issues is to try and focus most of the efforts to one firmware (like B08c since it is the latest). Maybe that is part of the issue. I am not saying that focusing on one firmware will make all the problems disappear, but it would probably narrow down a few things. Just sayin'

Well i was thinking if you guys want ill take ONE tester to test my.ROM with hroarks overclock just to see how they run together

All your info matches mine, the main difference is the rom version we are running. all phones have the same hardware and processor aside from diff. screens. i don't see the screens playing a part in stability. Of course like i have said my kernel has diff. options enabled that Hroark's version doesn't

I really don't want to put out an OC kernel myself.

The only thing I wanted to do is get source code working, for other devs, and to hopefully get CM9 working.

So as I have said, the kernels I have posted so far, are only for testing.

If I do release any official kernels, they will be packaged with a rom

I would like any kernels that I do release with any roms to include Shinru's OC and tweaks, if he is willing to share, but that is up to him
