Root [Boost Mobile] Official CyanogenMod 11 Nightlies!

Might have to give it a go. Used to flash nightlies almost religiously, now just more so when important fixes happen. Seems like Cyanogen team is really knocking it out of the park with CM11 in my opinion, so far.

LOL!!! I downloaded and was getting ready to flash your ROM and then read Rally's post. I'm, DLing the Official 12/15 build as we speak! :p

That camera fix and the updates were too tempting. :D heck, knowing me, I'll try them both. Shhh, gotta be quite so the wife doesn't bust me. :o

Can't blame you brother! If anyone wants to link their copy in this thread please feel free, otherwise I can do so myself later. Don't use camera a lot, but prefer for all features to work regardless of whether or not I use them. Also, if anyone wants to try BaNKS GApps instead of Paranoid Android, I can supply a link.

There's a new feature that is supposed to enhance SMS/MMS security called WhisperPush as well, it does have to be intentionally activated. One time only then it runs in background.

I'm having issues galore!! Not only will your zip fail to flash, the newest build fails to flash also.

I'm working on this B*TCH right now. I'll get it figured out.

For some reason when I first try to install nightlies I can't until I flash strucks modified zips. Then I can flash all 4.4.2 Roms in xda. It was like that when I wanted to flash 4.4.1 also.

There are no asserts at all, so that can't be holding up a flash. Do the clean wipe to install new ROM option in Philz first, then flash just the 12/12 modified to serve as a base for dirty flash later of any other build. 12/7 is fine for a base too, that's what I started with and then dirty flashed over.

Getting ready to flash Philz now. This is new territory for me. I'm a die hard TWRP user and have been ever since it was made available to the devices I was running. Will advise in a bit. I've still got a few things that need to be done so that I know it flashes this next go round. ;)

EDIT: I removed all the asserts from the newest nightly too. Still no joy. I have a feeling I know what's up. Working on it now. :D

Yeah ditch that TWRP. Philz WILL work.

I also had a patched MK3 build.prop from Wicked Sensations to stop the update. I have no idea if that may have had anything to do with it but it's been done away with and I just booted up one of my old rooted stock backups.

The only thing I dislike about switching recoveries is that the backups I have made with TWRP will no longer work with Philz. I know all I have to do is Odin back TWRP but still..... that's a flippin pain. lol. ok..... here we go.... getting ready to flash Philz

We have a go. Repeat... We have a go. Installing newest build and gapps now .

booting now.........:D

AND ROUND AND ROUND THE CM CIRCLE GOES.

Philz is designed to integrate with TWRP, haven't tried it yet, but there is a custom/advanced restore, as well as options to backup in TWRP format. I can pretty much guarantee your flashing issue is due to the incompatibility of TWRP and KitKat, unless you have version 2.6.3.1, which I personally couldn't get to install properly, and I know others had issues with that version as well. Good luck buddy!

Ninja'd!! Anyway, you could probably spend half a day just playing with all the options in Philz, it has that much to offer. Looking forward to getting your input once you're comfortable with a new recovery interface.

YUP! TWRP was my 1st thought seeing as it was an older build. Looks like I'm with Philz now. You say you think it's possible to restore TWRP backups? Now THAT.... THAT would be da shizznit. :D

I know first hand it will perform the backup in TWRP format, so that if you switch back to TWRP, those backups are still accessible. Haven't played around with those advanced options too much, but I suspect it is a matter of pointing the recovery to the appropriate folder where your TWRP backups are stored. Like I said, there are a ton of features. I'm still in love with changing the look and feel on the fly. One word of advice, choose the interface feature that is called "double tap" that way you don't inadvertently choose something with your first touch, it requires a double tap or highlighting the line and then pressing the enter button at bottom right. Even that is customizable-you can move those buttons around to fit your tastes as well!

you are very used to phils biker. to me its just cwm with a new wrapper

All right, since a camera fix is a semi-major bug fix, I will upload two modified copies of 12/15 nightly for anyone who wants a ready to use version. First copy will just be without assert lines, second copy will be modified further to debloat the way I like it. Will also include a link to BaNKS GApps for those who want another GApps option. Current standard practice seems to be for any GApps package to replace certain default AOSP features such as Trebuchet launcher and default SMS app, so if you want those things left alone, choose an older GApps package for 4.4; on the Paranoid Android version it is the 11/26 package (big thanks to APOPHiS420 for figuring that out!). And to reiterate, I did not create the original ROM, CyanogenMod team gets all the credit, anything I link in my Dropbox has just been modified for ease of use by the joint VM/Boost community of SGS3 users.

Just an update...... I'm running the newest nightly of CM11 right now and getting ready to set the xml for MMS. Can I get a whoop whoop? lmao

Fellas, I am up and fully functional!!!! I mean EVERYTHING looks like it's working. I didn't even have to do anything to get mms or data working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried the APN Backup and Restore app but it denied me every time. I had tested mms and sent one to myself before I even started messing with the apn fix. Darned if I didn't look and there it was in my messages. Just to confirm, I grabbed my wife's phone and it is sending and receiving mms. Camera is working too. CHA CHING!!

If I wasn't so freakin tired I'd get up and do a dance I'm so happy!!! lmao!!

Special thanks go out to Struckn and everyone else who helped get me back on my favorite ROM!!! WS and MOAR, I love ya ta death but CM11 is in da howz now and that my friends is a wrap!

Also, this flippin Philz Recovery is da shizznit fellas. It's fast as hell and has worked like a charm so far. Say it can be themed too? Oh yeah.... I'm in like Flynn.

Today is a good day. Now, it's time to lay my butt down. Gotta get a little rest because the wife is gonna be dragging me outta the house in a little while. Looks like I'm gonna be doing a little writing tonight in the ROM thread too. It's gotta be updated again.

I must now take my leave, men. I go to rest with a smile upon my face and much joy within my heart! :) Peace

Hey guys I think we've veered too far away from Knox related issues, I got excited talking CM11 and forgot this is a Knox specific thread myself. Post anything you want about CM11 in my thread if you want though.

Updated OP with two options for download for 12/15 CM11 nightly. Camera is confirmed working. One user did report a bluetooth issue on the debloated version, but flashed fine on my phone; did a dirty flash over 12/12 version.

OP updated again with link for Dalvik patch thread on XDA. Loving this tweak so far, thanks Rally517 (Boost) and Warrior94 (VM) for confirming working. Yet another example of the awesome power of the combination of these two forums!
