Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] n00b (B10 based) VIII.II FULL Install 1/23/2013

Just an fyi...what just happened with me is that I was doing a clean install of noob III. Wiped data etc. Flashed your rom then the app package. Rebooted twice. Them whenever installing an app from the market it would reboot the phone. Did a clean install of just noob 3 and no problem.

Edit : quick pic also seems to just. Close o.o I'm going to look into that more later

Edit2: uninstalled via tb and reinstalled and it works fine now.

Thanks Prinny, don't know how I missed that issue, it's because there was a quickpic update and I forgot to move the lib file over too... I will update both zips shortly!

n00b III Update zip has been updated with previous version of quickpic, this fixes the issue prinny found, I am uploading a corrected n00b III full zip as well, so both links in the first post will be good...

for those who have the quickpic issue, follow the update instructions in post one to correct. Apologies for missing that, thanks again prinny!

EDIT: did you reboot twice before flashing my zip of apps? I think you have to do that in between

Hello,
I had n00bII running 100% OK, then flashed n00bIIIUpdate.zip, wiped cache & dalvik, rebooted, every app FCing, fixed permissions, swype stilled fcing so reinstaled it, everything seems to be ok now.

update: QPick closing without any reason, uninstalled with TB then reinstalled and working fine.
update: MailDroid FCing, fixing permissions didn't fix it, restored with TB (app only) and working fine.
update: I have 403 apps (reported by TB), lot of them were FCing since update but restoring with TB fixed all.

Thanks

No I did not. I figured that was the culprit of the issue. When I return home, I can test that.

Thanks guys, I have corrected all of the issues (I think so at least after testing more extensively on myself)

I corrected the quickpic issue, I just put the last version back in since the new one needs an updated lib file and I don't have time right now to play with it. You can update it through the play store.

I also corrected the permissions issue with the update for those coming from n00bII. This caused some force closes and the need to fix permissions.

Lastly I updated the install zip for the full install with the fix.

I added a note to the bloat apps in post 3, make sure to reboot once if you just installed n00bIII before flashing.

Thanks again guys, I have always tried to not release anything I hadn't tested extensively, I think this is all corrected now though!

Confirmed, if you flash latest update (fixed one) you got no FC.
I checked everything I could and didn't find any error now.

When I plug a pair of headphones into my phone, it comes up with an error, dspmanenger has stopped unexpectedly, anyone have any ideas on how to fix the problem? Or is there a way to uninstall it, I couldn't find a way in manage applications.

Are you updating from noob ll, or is it a fresh install, if so yo should have done a factory restore, clear data...first, did you? Then the cache partition and dalvic, and fix permissions, maybe you skipped a step.

Odd. I'm having no issues with headphones. In fact it sounds better than before. I'm coming off of noob2.

24 hours now, give or take. I've ran into no problems. Wifi always works, keyboard switching works without a problem, and quickpic works since I removed it with tb and reinstalled from the market. Keep up the great work, Bobo.

You saw I found the quickpix issue and have corrected that as well as the permissions issue right? I updated the downloads too.

Thanks again for your help!

Yeah, I noticed that. However why re download the rom and flash again, if it is working right? :P though I may do it anyway, just to be safe.

I think you are fine, the update was the one with permission issues, and restoring quickpix from titanium is essentially what I did, just rolled it back a version
