Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] n00b (B10 based) VIII.II FULL Install 1/23/2013

@Mrbobo
I now have n00b V up and running with zero bugs! To the dismay of my better half I decided I'd had enough not being able to run your Rom to its fullest so I spent most of today figuring out what my issue is. I started a thread for the fix but thought I should update your thread as well. After cross referencing every init.d tweak and build.prop on every Rom I've ever run I found the culprit to be LoopySmoothness. So now I can run everything and just extract that file prior to installation. I didn't want to give up on you and this Rom and felt I owe it to the warp devs to figure this out. :D

Thank you for troubleshooting, if anyone wants to disable loopy smoothness all you need to do is go to /system/etc/init.d2 and delete loopysmoothness. I will come out with an update to replace it with a new one in my next update.

If I'm the only one having issue with it by all means leave it in for everybody and I'll just manually pull it out prior to installation now that I know my phone trips on it. Even the other warp in my house is running your Rom with the tweak in it with no issues. My phone is just stupid I guess lol Of course it's your call my man.

Sweet work MrBobo smoot fast and stable. Running on 2 warps and wow must say wow. Thank you man. My uncle and sister have never been happier with their phone now my mother wants it on her warp. And the fact that CWM isnt needed thats even better. Dont know how you accomplished this bt. Wow good job. Thanks for all the efforts and feed back. We wouldnt have these opportunities with out this and other communities sticking together. Thank you all.

For sum reason my girls phone isn't taking the glitch kernel too well (at least I'm thinking that's what it is). At times nobody can hear her on the other end unless she puts them on speaker. Of course she blaming me and AF for messing up her phone. I had this issue before with her phone and I was given the suggestion to flash the adb kernel (which worked). I didn't wanna jump the gun and flash it with this new Noob version. Any suggestions?

Adb kernel? Do you mean you flashed a kernel through adb? Being you're the only one having this specific issue its probably an issue with the phone.

stock kernel is not compatible with this ROM, you could flash her back to a stock ROM to see if that helps, but generally this has been a hardware limitation/issue with the Warp, it's all over the forum starting back on stock and throughout most of the ROMs it's been mentioned.

My personal theory is we just have a speaker on the phone and some phones are worse than others...

The boot with adb enabled kernel is the one I was referring too. So it won't work with this version?

I think we are getting a mix up of what your saying. . Every kernel can be used with adb. ..(android debugging ) . Which allows your phone to communicate with the computer.

And Bo Bo is saying you can't use the stock kernel with n00b because this rom requires a custom kernel that is swap enabled and set up to run the tweaks in init.d . I can assure you that this rom is not causing choppy reception, that is either hardware or maybe bad reception. . Try updating the prl. .
But a kernel wouldn't fix that issue either way. ..

Hey guys....so after a couple weeks of using the rom I am starting to experience some lag when using the phone. There seems to be more lag now than when I was running Swap with swapper2 on WCS. has anyone else been experiencing some lag and freezing? everything else is working fine for me...(i.e. GPS, Wifi, etc) but performance seems to be lacking now.

I noticed a little lag but I chock it up to using my phone so heavy.

Main lag I gave is when hitting home button then opening another another app right away

You my friend, have turned my Warp into a VERY reliable phone. I was going to switch to the new EVO....NOT NOW!!! Thank you so very much for your work on this ROM! I love it

you can try disabling loopysmoothness, go to /system/etc/init.d2 and delete the loopysmoothness script or change it's permissions so it can't be executed.

Other than that my best guess is it's something you installed that's using up your memory.

Ok....I will give that a try....What does loopysmothness actually do?

and can i add it back if there is no significant performance improvement?

I get lag when going back to my home screen, using the back arrow. Plus ive been getting a lot of lag when using the keyboard. typing is delayed and so on. I'll try to remove loopysmothness and post results.

I agree, especially since this phone is not bad at all when programmed correctly, sad to say that this forum and its developers have deflawed this phone, for lack of better terms or real words. I really could not have chosen another phone i feel like this forum is a family to me, my wife has tried to throw other phone ideas at me and i have done some soul searching myself and thanks to all the developers, i am still in love with the warp that i had and this time i am making it theft proof. mark my words. Also other phones cost as much as a car and i need a car, so warp it is.

Got rid of loopy smoothness and lag seems to be mostly gone.

From what I've read it supposedly speeds up some home launchers and apps, however, I haven't really noticed a difference with it besides the problems I get. LOL I've also read that it can be edited in Root Explorer so, as a whole for all of us, perhaps we just haven't had it setup correctly for our Warps? I've read that you can "lock in" things like whatever launcher you're using and apps like the GO apps and such so they will open very snappy like. One of our ROM developers can probably provide all the insight on that. MrBobo, care to enlighten?
