I decided to at least try imitate the stock Nexus S Gingerbread ROM.
This has no mods, as I'm trying to bring a pure stock gingerbread experience.

Version 2
  • NEW! Titanium Backup/Root Explorer now work (Thanks MrBobo for the template)
  • Stock GB apps
  • Removed bloatware
  • Added back 3D Gingerbread launcher (app drawer is smoother)
  • SuperSU
  • AOSP MMS.apk
  • NEW! Tether option in setting menu
  • NEW! Replaced stock camera with modified stock camera
  • Removed most Google apps (they're available in the Play Store anyway)
  • Super_phone III build.prop
  • NEW! Jelly Bean Nexus Boot Animation. (It's awesome. :3)

CURRENT BUGS:

Root Explorer & Titanium backup freeze upon starting up. MrBobo has provided a template that will fix these problems. For now, use Root Browser. FIXED!
Power Control Widget for some reason does not function properly on 1st boot, Restart phone to fix this issue.

Q: How come this ROM doesn't have any mods like the other roms here?
A: 'Cause I'm trying to bring people a pure stock Gingerbread experience, which has no mods at all. Also, It gives the user a chance to install the mods THEY want. Not everyone needs/wants every single mod.

So.. I do have some rather unfortunate news.
My girlfriend and I got into a rather heated argument, and decided to destroy my phone as her way to release the anger. I will still be working on this, but I will definitely need some testers.

Sorry to hear that... but just let us know. I, for one, will be glad to do any testing you need.

How'd you get MMS working? I can send sms but mms gets stuck on "Sending". I don't think it's reading the correct APN information.

It's a hit and miss for me actually. I could send MMS successfully to certain numbers, I could recieve MMS successfully to some numbers. I'm reverting back to the ZTE stock MMS app.
 
I've been working on it. I THINK I have an idea on how to fix it, it's messy but might work. I'm going to try adding the proper permissions to change MMSC using ##3282# to the Mms.apk manifest, installing it, then changing the info. After that backing up and pushing the changes to data during ROM install. I'm going to try it out tomorrow.


Edit: I got it working w/o that ugly work around. I made a thread if you want it.

I have to put this ROM on hold. Someone in my household has been downloading stuff they're not suppose to and got my internet terminated. D:
 
so far this rom is great had no problems yet with mms and sms. I am also using super phone mod III which seemed to help alot was running other rom before this. This one seems smoother and faster..

the main reason for the swith was tethering of coarse interesting foxfi will work for a few seconds then shutdown its never worked. only works if wifi is off and new install or erase cache . maybe this gives it a chance to work? maybe needs some tweaks to the code?

though wifi tether works if i change phone to samsung s3 then i get infrastructure which is great but must be dns issue cause the device im using xoom still wont give internet access
