Root [Boost Mobile] roms?

What roms will work on this device? Can I install an HTC sense 3.5 rom on it? What about htc inspire 4g's rom? Would that work too? Or perhaps the samsung galaxy s II's rom?

Though I prefer the htc sense 3.5 out of all of them

If none of those that i mentioned will work, then what roms will work on the device?

None. Still alot of work to do. There has to be a custom recovery before roms.
 
Im not sure which comes as stock with the device, but I've found

N860V1.0.0B12
N860V1.0.0B14

on ZTE's update server, if the european devices are anything to go by there will be zero to little difference between them
 
if you go into Settings/About Device do you have a 'System updates' option in the list?

and under that do you have 'Storage card updates' under there?


If you do I'll can get you some rom updates..


and a full root solution..

You may brick it. Installing a ROM that is made for another device will most likely do bad things to your phone.

Not sure if you are thinking about it but just in case.
Please don't use ROM manager. Many a Prevail have been killed with that app.

ohh so roms have to be made specifically for this device? How long would the estimation be probably until roms are made for this device?

Yes for this device or any device. No two HTC, samsung, motorola, or LG phones are the same. Or any other manufacturer. You have to understand that this stuff is just a group of people who do this as a hobby. They took time to learn how to do this stuff on there own. Sometimes it turns out really bad for people who dont know what they are doing so dont get too antsy about roms. And BTW sense may never be made to work for the Warp. If it is it could be a year from now. Your most likely to see CyanogenMod, MIUI, and maybe ICS before sense. Mostly though you will see clean roms with the bloat removed based on Gingerbread that we have now. We wont see anything until there is a custom recovery made for the Warp.

yea, from what I can gather about android development (Im no dev, or pro) android is usually built for a specific device using that device's linux drivers. Hopefully ZTE releases the kernel source code so custom kernel's can be developed (and a kernel that can be built.. unlike samsung....:mad:). I plan on getting this phone when I get some cash together, spec wise, it looks a ton better than the little prevail I got....
 
It is just the way zte names their updates zip. Has nothing to do with the build number

I came across this rom and i was curious about it... have you ever dowloaded it? its formulated in a completly different way with a meta zip and a system.img.ext4 image that i have yet to be able to unpack... tried yaffs, no go...so its really peeking my curiosity...

pm me if you have a answer of some sort... i dont plan on running it on my phone but perhaps there are bits in there that we dont have on public or boost...

there is a recovery.img in there and i flashed it to my phone in a effort to install the update rom, flash clockwork and make a editable backup... but the installation failed with bad signature none the less...
