Root [Boost Mobile] Roms?

As stated above, as long as the ROM contains a new kernel, the one you have at present will be replaced. Just make sure you follow the steps we've mentioned when flashing a new ROM.
1) Factory reset
2) Wipe cache
3) Wipe Dalvik cache

Do these things and you will be ready to flash.

Also, the MOAR ROM has several kernel options. I am running the Ktoonez kernel. When flashed, the kernel is not able to overclock. There is an app that comes with the kernel when choosen in the Aroma installer. It is called the KTweaker app. Open your app drawer and locate the app. Once opened you will see GENERAL at the top of the list. Open it and there you will see the option to enable overclocking for the kernel. If you choose to overclock, be very careful. Do not. I repeat, do not turn it up to the max all at once. Your phone will probably shutdown and then reboot. It will return to the default settings as long as you do not have the SET AT BOOT option selected. Also, when overclocking, always turn the kernel up slowly letting the phone run at a setting for a few minutes before turning it up again.

If you do decide to overclock, please be very careful. Overclocking improperly can do irreversible damage to your cpu.

Personally, I'm staying will the default kernel settings. This phone has plenty of power just running the Ktoonez kernel with its tweaks. No need to overclock IMO.

Good luck and prepare to be blown away with this ROM. I have flashed many a ROM and this is definitely one of the nicest I have ever seen. The options are numerous. It will take you DAYS to figure everything out. lol :D
 
im on virgin mobile and just used this roam, FREAKIN AWSOME

btw, so i flashed this but when i chose the kernel, i said leave as is or skip cause i was unsure whether flashing the kernals it provided would brick my phone


can i go back and just change the kernel cause i remember one of the options was to just change the kernel? if yes, do i have to format, etc?

i had the same kernel on a different rom. thanks for confirming the kernels that came with this rom are safe

For flashing kernels, you always just wipe caches.

Its probably much easier to flash the kernel separately rather than go through the entire aroma installer for 1 thing.

If dkp is available for your carrier, I'd highly suggest that over ktoons. The free lunch governor is magic :)
 
Is there a way to install the launchers in this ROM without having to flash the whole thing over again?

BTW, I did the MMS fix, verified that my apns were correct and I still can't send/receive MMS

Not sure about the launchers. From what I remember, I think you actually may have to go back through the entire flashing process. Not positive though. Personally, I'm running ADW EX. I froze Touch Whiz with Titanium.

As for the MMS fix, make sure that you are not leaving spaces behind the ". " . Try using the Skype keyboard. I believe someone made that suggestion earlier. I used my SwiftKey keyboard with the directional arrows enabled.
 
Where can we change the apn's manually?

I downloaded the XML file on xda for virgin mobile(linked fr this thread) and I restored it using APN backup and restore app
 
I don't know a thing about Virgin Mobile and what you need to do in order to get it working. Maybe one of these other guys do.

Also, anything I have said to get this ROM working applies to BOOST phones only. What works for me may not work for you. ;)

From what I just read, one of the Virgin members in your section is working on a patch for your phones to switch over all the Sprint settings to Virgin. Hopefully that'll work for you.
 
Just when I fell in love with Twisted Sensations, Biker has got me flirting with MOAR. Installed it tonight. Looks awesome so far. No problems at all with the installation. This will take me all weekend to go through all the options. Maybe longer...
 
I love moar and wickedsensation but If touchwiz was a person I would shoot it in the face with a sawn off shot gun I despise the heavy nature of touchwiz its a resource whore lol you can't even turn the brightness all the way down it only goes to 20%and you have no say I've been on most for a while its awesome basically almost 3 or 4months after I got this phone all i ran was moar i got the phone on launch so moar is stock for me lol and actually using it kernel under clocking the cpu and using the intelligent demand gov I got pretty good battery life but I just could stand touchwiz no longer and flashed cm 10.2 nightly and I love it since its a nightly it has bugs but I recommend the rc release candidate because its more stable so




Long story short I flashed cm 10.2 have android 4.3 on my gs3 and after manually configuring the APN I have MMS and 4g so yeah I'm living the life ...just thought I'd throw that out there carry on about that heavy battery annulator tw lol
BTW got a full day and a couple of hours with 15%left with moderated to heavy usage can't wait until its stable

Does wifi tether work? It's a must have for me.

Yep, it all works ( at least on my sprint phone) 4.3 Roms have been my daily for the past 3 weeks

If(!) you guys are able to flash any sprint ROM, I'd also check out carbonrom and slimbean. Both high quality AOSP Roms. For kernels I'd recommend dkp

Once again, that all depends on if you can flash sprint Roms freely or not. I don't have the virgin or boost s3 to verify
 
I'm not a big TW fan myself. I freeze that puppy and run ADW EX for my launcher. I've already made ADW a system app so I will probably just go ahead and remove TW.

As far as battery life on MOAR with light use, I'm at 19 hrs with 41 % battery left. Not bad at all.

Or just type in on the web boost apns or look through the VM cm 10.1 tut thread and a guy posted them
Once you know what they are editing is easy just go to settings more Then mobile networks and hit the APN slot then once you edit hit the menu button save and reboot

Everything works you may have to reboot every so often to reconnect to cell data if you on WiFi its a bug there working out so yeah other than that and a few minor bugs its pretty stable

I really want miui so I'm probably going to be flashing that again
BTW on non tw based Roms you get your true signal strength I believe correct me if I'm wrong and sprint sucks lol i barely see a 3g signal its 1x or LTE for me and the 1x is always on 1 bar in my house lol on tw it'll still say 3g even though its 1x check your status of your phone those on tw you'll see
