Root [Boost Mobile] Root w00t!

WARP IS NOW ROOTED!!!!

Thanks go to Chalk (developer of zergRush) and interdpth for their hard work!

I tested on my phone and got root this morning - first Warp to be cracked :D

I suppose either Chalk or interdpth will be releasing an official exploit shortly!

Can't wait!

up until now i have used only blackberries... i decided to buy this phone and i am beyond satisfied... my only question is what is Root...? i know i can search for the answer but what will this allow me to do on the warp?

it basically gives "you" the user full rights to the phones system files.

which can be good and bad.

like remove an unwanted system app you don't use.

there is a lot more to be explained but I'll tell you that later.

gotta work.

ROOT simply gives you "superuser" capabilities on the phone. Think of it as a windows computer, most normal users just have standard user rights to change like their wallpaper and stuff. Think of "root" as Administrator rights that let you change and/or remove whatever you want. Root will also allow you to use apps that only work with rooted devices, like wifi tether.

WOOO im So glad sumbody rooted this thing because i was going to buy but couldnt decide until some guy rooted it! Thanx! will most definitly buy now

OCR will be released Monday. Look for the thread, tutorial video will follow. Also possibly an unroot option. Not sure why people need to unroot.

No secret leaks, everyone gets it at the same time.
HEY MAN! thanx for the root! im sure this phone is going to be beast! now what time will the release be released? oh and 2 questions
1.when i root this can i install roms? and is it safe?

2. can you do something about the ciq thats in the phone so we can wifi tether freely?

2. can you do something about the ciq thats in the phone so we can wifi tether freely?

You can block CIQ with TrevE's Logging TestApp over at XDE forum. BUT, you need to be aware that tethering can still be detected because your software leaves fingerprints that can be detected as traffic passes through Sprint/Boost networks. For example, your desktop browser has a different signature then your mobile browser. So you might still get caught and have your account cancelled.

Oh i see , so i can stop them from seeing what i do on my phone, however they still can see the enormous amounts of data passing through their network?

Does it really matter if we try and mask the wifi tether or not? You can USB Tether with the phone stock (as will all android phones that I know of) with pdanet as long as you turn on usb debugging and have the correct drivers on your computer. What's the difference? The logs would still show the same with the wifi tether as a wired tether. It's not against boost's terms to do a wired tether as far as I know, I could be wrong.

OH YEA NOW LETS GET SOME ROMS UP TOO! the nexus iceream would be nice :D

and i mean its no d1ifference but just for safety thats all no point in doing it if you're not thorough

I have been with boost for years and have an unlocked htc sprite phone on it. I have been wifi tethering for 2yrs now for at less 12hrs a day because I'm a truck driver I've had no problems. So how different is my windows 6.5 phone is from the zte? Can they detect android better than windows mobile devices? Or is it the same?
