Root [Boost Mobile] Tri-Band S3 (SPH-L710T)

Here's what I know:
  1. The Conquest: Singularity ROM is the only ROM that we know of that works fully, the catch being that you have to install Ktoonsez's 4.4 TouchWiz kernel. Otherwise, rotation is messed up.
  2. The CM11 M10 Snapshot for D2LTE works, except for rotation. Later and earlier(?) builds break the radio as well as rotation.
  3. Most (see above) SPH-L710 ROMs do not work properly with the SPH-L710T.
  4. The issues with the baseband and rotation that arise when using different ROMs can be fixed with a custom kernel.
  5. We need a kernel developer that's willing to modify a kernel to fix baseband and rotation issues.
  6. We do not (yet) have a subforum for the phone, which makes discussion difficult.
  7. The lack of a subforum has been brought to staff attention. Action being taken is unknown.
  8. We have a flashable stock tar and the device can be recovered from a full brick. (assuming it can be put into download mode using a USB jig or something)
  9. There are a lot of people that have this phone now, and there are going to be even more coming throughout the rest of the month. We need to get a proper development discussion going.
  10. This entire thread is a bit of a clusterf*ck.
Here's what I don't know:
  1. What kernels have been tested on this phone, since there are at least a few other AOSP/CM kernels.
  2. Whether or not there are any developers of existing kernels that are willing to implement a fix of some kind into their kernel.
  3. How do go about actually getting development done on a kernel for this phone.
  4. Anything about kernel development.

Well I managed to corrupt the bootloader of my phone while trying a different kernel... I guess we'll find out in the next few days if the normal USB jigs work with this one as well. >.>

The day smartphones all have something similar to BIOS or UEFI to load the OS will be a great day.

I have a jig bit never tried it on this phone yet.

I believe it just went bad when I tried to flash a kernel and corrupted it.
 
Has anyone tried one of the lollipop builds?Will the same happen as KitKat Roms?Can we restore back our backup if so?
 
Conquest comes with Ktoonz and has since it was first released back in the summer. That being said, it sounds like you need to update the kernel to the latest version to fix your rotation issues.

This is my thought as well flash the rom and then flash the kernel over the top. Let us know if that works.
 
If someone could run the command in this thread and upload the image, you would be an amazing person. It doesn't look like we have an image for the L710T yet.

Edit: Based on this post, changing count to = 128 in the command might be better.

Tried both CM12 and Liquid Smooth but it was taking longer to boot then it did on the L710 so I flashed Conquest I’m not that patient when it comes to roms....

yes busybox as well as superSU im rooted but i keep getting an error something along the lines of no directory i will try again and if it dont work ill post a screenshot

I'm not. We built this joint up with a zero tolerance policy against people acting like internet tough guys and no patience with trolls.

Here's my suggestion - either leave the thread or get real. In fact, take the suggestion for what it is - a mod directive.

Any third choice including publicly arguing with my decision is going to land you on vacation from posting here.

Well, I couldn't get it to work... but that could be any number of reasons. (probably because my SD card is only class 4)

i copied and pasted the command u posted ...could i have done something wrong??? would u like me to try again...sorry for the stupid questions....but whats the point of me pulling that file and why couldnt it be pulled from the stock tar if whats on the phone came from whats in the tar file?? and why does the class of sd matter i just have a cheap 16gig card not sure of its class...again sorry for the dumb question .... (my name says it all!!! lol)
 
Can all of you access your recovery that are having the bootloader issues? Sorry im a bit of a noob when it comes to bootloader things.

Im trying Conquest it just sitting at the Singularity screen for about 10 mins tried 3 times now.Any help?Also my back up is all borked up.
