Root [Boost Mobile] Under Development

I looked at the build.prop and updater-script and I found n00b 8.2 in there...

I started with his rom as a base since I seen his rom is really good and tried to port over cyanongenmod 7 into it hoping it would work
I will give him credit since it was his rom that got me started on wanting to do this

its ok I didnt expect my first rom.to.be a success maybe when.I get better at making them sooner or later I will succeed

I would start with a working rom then work up from there. I used i2f's Warped Sandwich theme as a base for mine, then I began switching things out so everything maintained itself working and that's how I made my own :)

I made a new rom today i hope this one works that would be great
let me know please thanks

Took it down since it doesnt install need to tweak on it somemore would really like to figure out how to change all the icons in the notification bar hopefully someone can walk me through this would be a great help thanks

I began analyzing this ROM, just to test things out, and found a few things I thought would be helpful to mention. As has been said before, I am not trying to bash the OP or anything like that - this is a creative community and a helpful one at that. I'm not posting this malevolently, just trying to help out since many of us are too busy - and depend on our Warps too much of the time! lol - to flash this personally.

First thing I noticed is that the ROM image includes a recovery partition. In my opinion a ROM should never include this since there's a good chance the user has already selected and installed the recovery they want and would like to keep it that way.

That said, I figured I'd do some differential comparing to try to determine what recovery was used. All I accomplished was identifying what recovery it's not lol I compared it to stock, no dice. Compared to the Easy Root CWM and TWRP... nada. So, just out of curiousity, what recovery did you use, Reaper?

Still looking into things, will post more back when I find out. :)

Edit: it's the recovery from n00b VIII.II. Curious, though, because it didn't match the recovery from Bobo's EasyRoot ZIPs.

There's a needless group of XMLs in the init.d folder; only scripts can run from there. Everything else looks pretty good; this ROM is basically n00b 8.2 with different apps and (less) sounds, a different boot animation and monkey.jar added back in. I notice the entire framework folder is different also, though this could be just due to re-signing the files. But there's nothing malicious here :)

Oh, and the install aborts due to this line:

set_perm<1000, 1000,0644, "/system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf">;

It should read:

set_perm(1000, 1000,0644, "/system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf");

But this is irrelivant since that path doesn't even exist in the ROM to begin with. The install binary is just choking on it because of the syntax.

Overall, you're off to a pretty good start, Reaper! N00b is one of the best frameworks you could have picked to start a new ROM, and I'm impressed by how small you got it to be. Keep hacking at it, and we're all here if you need any assistance :)

Hope this helps!

Thank You Mercury!!! I was gonna try it for him again later, but will wait. I just wanted to help out and get some screenies up for the users and maybe post the rom in the ATR Guide. But I will wait now.

Really a good thing for other Rom Devs to look at things for us all.
Thanks again Merc!!
