Why does my phone take back control of the wifi settings and wont let me connect to other devices? Also says error in the wifi settings an i have no settings cus of that? What can i do to get it working?
 
What do you mean by the phone takes back control? Give me an example and be specific.

Also when you say you don't have any settings because it says error.... Do you mean that when when you open settings and click wifi then click to turn wifi on, it doesn't turn on instead it juat says error?
 
If it says error when you try and turn on wifi, then you have an issue in your build prop. Ive had that issue in the past. You can try the super phone build prop. You can use a different rom.

Ive never tried wcs.. But i have had the error issue before, and it was a issue in the rom i was using. As soon as i flashed a different rom all worked well
 
are you running wcs with all the latest updates ( you have to go to the op of that thread and install the ota update)

usually if you have an issue while running a custom ROM you should post it on that thread for the best support, since many issues are ROM specific you will need another user of that ROm or the rom DEV to work it out.

You are welcome to switch ROMs to my ROM (n00b ROM) if you would like to try another ROM and get support for this issue there, it's just too difficult to troubleshoot a ROM I am not running and didn't develop...
 
im using wifi tether app and I can't get it to work. devices either can't connect or don't see it. is there a specific setting I need to do? My warp is rooted and I have stock rom. Thanks
 
i never got wifi tether for root to work, our phones just dont do infastructure mode, i read somewhere that it is kernel related, so all we have is ad-hoc mode, and most windows computers wont pick that up, or will only use it as a local conection but no connection to actual internet.
 
I recommend following Mr.bobo's advice. Started with shinjitsu, wifi tethering did not work. Switch to Noob's and wifi tethering works like a charm.
 
I never had an issue with barnacle. The first time it will say cant work but you can try to change a setting click "do it now " and start again
 
They both do the same thing. Barnacles widget is a big bulky SOB though. Neither is better than the other. But u have to donate for barnacles widget.
 
Screenshots of the two with the actual app open and running. And of the widgets side by side on the home screen. Remember on one you have to pay for the widget.

Well I just realized they both have big bulky ass widgets. The other pic had the Wi-Fi tether app shortcut on the home screen. Here's both widgets..

Oh and what the hell am I doing still up..I have to work at 11.. ugh:banghead:

Lol seriously though I would have to.take 6 screenshots to get all the options under settings. I personally prefer WiFi tether but like I said they both do the same thing. One doesn't make the tether faster than the other
