You are absolutely correct. If you look under the KToonsez kernel in the kernel section you'll also see a link to a section solely devoted to the kernel and the KTweaker app. It is a place for users to discuss what settings work best for them, etc. I've been using the KTweaker since I 1st started using the kernel with MOAR. :D

From what I've read , it's that way on The Collective and Vanilla Root Box too. Hopefully Mavrikmeercat or one of the other guys who know CM may have some luck with getting it straightened out when they get some time to dig into it.

I compared the xml's and from the Force and S3 and they are a lot of differences. The thing is, they have the same problem with 4G losing mms sometimes too. I wish I knew more about it but right now it's over my head. I tried. :)
 
HEADS UP!

For those of you running 4.3 DU or any AOSP based ROM for that matter, please be very careful with the apps you install. Those ROMs are very finicky when it comes to apps from TW ROMs and it can cause the ROM to become unstable and you'll get freeze ups and random reboots.

Also, if using Titanium to restore apps, never restore the app data. Always do a clean install. Failing to do so will result in all kinds of issues. Trust me.

I've finally decided to give the MOAR update a test run. Flash-addict, why yes, yes I am and not ashamed of it one bit! lmao

I'm going to start testing some of the other ROMs from Sprint too. Hopefully I'll find a few to add to our list of working ROMs.

Smith, did you use the 6.1 update or did you flash the entire 6.1 ROM?

He says it's cool to dirty flash the 6.1 update zip but I'm not a big fan of any type of dirty flashing. Sometimes things works right and other times they don't . It's usually a 50/50 toss up imo.

Just wanted your thoughts and which option you took. ROM or update. Thanks:)

I updated, I was already on moar, that's what makes the dirty flash ok (sounds perverted)... All is running well

I flashed my backup of v6 so I should be able to flash the update then. DLing the entire ROM just to add to my files though.

im using the dkp kernal and freelunch gov. runs great seems snappier before i over clocked so far heating,freezing, or reboot issues i need 48 hrs on kernal to really speak. ive seen kernals act up around 40 hrs. so far loving life
 
and im also back on M.O.A.R. i fresh installed the full rom. dont know if u guys use hangouts but i use video call alot seeing as i have kids who dont live with me video call is a very important feature and a big reason i bought the s3. the new hangouts app seems to hang when it tries to connect the call. the call goes thru to the other phone but when you answer the call it hangs black screen and doesnt connect same happens when recieving a call so i fixed this by uninstalling the hangouts on moar (delete from system/app folder) and reinstall from play store its not the new 4.4 hangouts but it works. wondering if the nexus 5 has these issues?

Thanks for the update on that. Looks like I'll be installing my older backup from Titanium. :D

I rarely use the video call option but when I do use it I want it to work. It's much easier to use that Skype imo too. ;)
 
i try to use the google apps as much as posible just because its easier on my kids tablets for them it stays signed in so they dont have to do much but tap my picture and the video call button.
 
Guys.... as much as I hate to say it.... I've had some issues with the 4.3 version of Dirty Unicorns. I don't know if it has to do with the KToonsez kernel being added, an app, or what. I've had some screen freeze ups and a few reboots. Pretty sure the reboots had to do with me changing the kernel settings. Still, I wanted you guys to be aware of what's going on. I talked with Wy and he's had some freeze ups too. Nothing major but it is still something that needs to be known in the community.

If you decide to run the 4.3 version of DU, try running it without the older 4.3 8/31/13 KToonsez kernel and see if runs ok. If you are having trouble and want to run the DU ROM, I advise switching back to the 4.2 version run the 4.2 AOSP kernels. They all worked well for me and there are several to choose from.

I noticed that but the battery life and performance I got from dirty compared to the very short freeze ups and reboots that were not very often maybe once a week if that were not enough to have me feeling some type of way.

I'm glad your happy with it. Don't get me wrong either bro. I love that ROM. Also, as I mentioned, some of the issues I was experiencing may very well have been due to what I was doing with the phone and the changes I was making while testing settings. I talk with Wy on pretty much a daily basis and he said he was only getting the occasional freeze up. That's the reason I haven't pulled the link. I know it a good ROM and there's also going to be an official thread and update coming out soon, hopefully. I know for a fact it's in the works. Just don't know when the official release will be.

Version 4.2's layout is a little different in settings but it is stable and just as fast. Not sure about battery but may be worth a try with the dkp kernel and freelunch governor. Rxepert and others say that's a lethal combination. :D

As for me, I'm probably gonna be testing out some new ROMs to add to our list bro. I want our section to have the best thread as far as ROMs, Mods, Kernels, and such. I want our members to be able to come in here and find what they are looking for without having to look all over the place. I also want them to know that the ROMs posted in here are tested and will work. The only way for me to do that and know for sure is to get out there and test them myself.

Be looking for new additions to this section this week because they are coming. Trust me..... they are coming. One way to keep this section alive is to keep adding new ROMs in here and that's exactly what I plan on doing.
