Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

Biker has done alot but there are others. Smith058 has done alot to get us to where we are now. if you were in here early when this phone was released by boost like i was! Smith was all we had. all honesty i come in here everyday lookin forward to what biker has done next but for a while it was smith who was runnin this s**t.

Oh okay, hopefully they update it with the release of 4.3 already out. And did you hear the S3 will get 4.4 as well.?

I haven't heard anything but then again I haven't looked into it either. .. but 4.3 sounds great, I can't wait.

Thanks for the recognition. .. but I'm glad biker came aboard, he has great write ups , rather throughly explained how-to's, and answers lots of questions. ..
I like to help as much as I can, this community has helped me learn a lot starting back when root and shabbymod first hit the prevail, but I hate writing (mostly the time it takes to do so), and I work over 50 hours a week, wife, 1 and 3 year old; time is little, precious, and fast...
almost all updates/posts/helps are from my phone and while working. I don't get to make it to my computer much to do anything significant any more. So I'm thankful for biker and everyone else that helps here and I have no problem taking the back seat and helping in the background.

I didn't mean it like that I just felt like Smith should be recognized for his good deeds. All hail the all knowing and powerful Odin wizard Smith. Lol

Have been running DU 4.3 with the Ktoonsez kernel. I Love the AOKP Roms and the 4.3 additions.

But....I did start having some minor problems with random Force Closes. Nothing that required a reboot and not very often.

The new MOAR 6.1 started calling my name. The nigh before last I restored my MOAR 6 backup and applied the update zip with a dirty flash. I ran all day with that yesterday. No problems.

Biker reminded me that you have to have to do a fresh install to go back to the Aroma installer and run the theme options.

So , last night I wiped and did a fresh install. I really did not want to redo all the settings, but I am glad that I did.

MOAR 6.1 runs solid. Battery life has been excellent today.

I will come out of the closet and admit that I do like some Touch Wiz features. I do miss 4.3 but that will come in time.

Gonna try some more ROMs this weekend.

Bro, you take bake seat to no one, least of all me. Each of us in this section plays a very important part. We're like a machine guys. It takes all kinds of parts to make the machine run at its best. All of us have our specialty areas.

Also, I can't forget to mention the Devs and Dev teams. They are the reason this thread is here. Without them, there wouldn't be any of the ROMs we are running for me to test and post. :)

This thread is the combination of many people's hard work. All I've done it's help put it together and organize it.

Helping out in here is more than just a hobby, it's a passion of mine. I want to help others feel the excitement I feel when running a new ROM or trying out a new mod. I've seen it personally when I hook up some of my friends phones here in the area where I live. To see the look and the happiness on their faces is priceless.

Testing these ROM and mods plus writing the tutorials when needed is just my way of spreading the love around, man. I'm very happy to be a part of this section and an S3 owner.

Bro, you take bake seat to no one,...
I'm not saying "backseat" as an inferior or any negative way... I'm just saying I don't have the time to contribute in a way I would really like. "Backseat" would have been better translated "I want to sit back and watch the Development and enjoy the ride and answer a couple easy questions".

I, in no way meant it that way either bro. Trust me, you know much more about the inner workings of a ROM and Odin that I do. :) I'm just a tester and troubleshooter. Flash-o-holic? Yes I am. lol :p

With a 50+ hour work week, wife, a 1 and 3 year old, it's surprising you have any time at all. Yet you have still managed to make all kinds of much needed contributions to this section. I tip my hat to you bro.

I've also got to give some serious props to Capn069 too. The help he gave me when I 1st came to this section was invaluable. Much of the knowledge on how to get these Sprint ROMs working on our Boost phones that I learned came from him. :D

I just wish I had the knowledge to fix this issue with 4G and MMS on AOSP. I've looked at it, compared our xml to other Boost phones and in all honesty, I'm lost. You would think they would be similar but they're not. Hopefully Mavrikmeercat or one of the other guys who are more familiar with CyanogenMod will have some success with it.

Me too. I would be all over them roms too, they seem much nicer and faster, but I/we paid a lot for these 4g phones to not use 4g if we have access to it. If I only had more time to poke at it, for me it's all trial and error. I bet it's so simple and we're overlooking one little aspect.

I bet you're right. Probably something simple staring at us right in the face. My only disadvantage is that I don't have 4g in my area to test it. I've been talking to a buddy who bought my SV and he's been telling me how fast his 4g is. Sure would be nice if Sprint would add it in my area. I have feeling it will be awhile though since I live so far off the main grid. I literally live in the desert. Lmao. Hey, at least I've got my old trusty cable modem with NetGear wireless router running DD-WRT. That sure helps out a lot. :D

Thanks biker you da man! off topic again but that new eminem album tho if you havnt heard it go get it! def worth the money. sorry for the off topic posting. :D

Look for modems and basebands in this section. There is a link that will take you to just about all of the Sprint modems if that's what you're looking for. You don't need Odin because they can be flashed via TWRP or CWM. It's a very easy proccess! :D
This Link will take you right to the modem/baseband section in this thread and provide a link that will take you to ALL OF THE SPINT MODEMS.

Let us know if you still need help.

PS, You're not confusing the modems with the PRL are you? ;)

My baseband is the sprint MD4 right now.. Im trying to get the boostmobile one....I dont know if its the MD7 or MG2.... I have the following:

Build Number:JZO54K.L710VPAAMG2
Baseband Version: L710VPBMD4
Android Version: 4.1.2
Model Number: SPH-L710
Hardware Version: L710.14

My thread explains step by step how to update the baseband... The time it takes is only about 7 seconds plus download and copy/past time.

Or install a custom recovery. ..

Ps all sprint and boost base bands work without harm to the phone

UPDATE

ADDED A LINK to WasabiWa83's theme thread with many screenshots of his themes available with MOAR and Morphology. I thought it would be nice for you guys to see what some of the themes looked like before you flashed them instead of flashing them blindly. :)

The link to this theme thread can be found directly beneath the MOAR ROM thread link in this section.
;)

Also working on another AOSP ROM tonight. Hopefully all will go well and we'll have another ROM added to our list.
