yeah sucks i was carrying a pretty heavy wooden toy box started to lose grip and leaned/dropped the box on my leg dont ask me how the screen was facing out i always keep the screen in when in the pocket.

I JUST STARTED A NEW SECTION LABELED "MISCELLANEOUS" AND ADDED THE LINK TO THE THREAD "Get a (Battery) Life! Every possible way to save your battery". ;)

I had originally just posted the link in one of my posts above but after giving it some thought, the information in his thread most definitely needed to be added to a section here. Riro Zizo put a good bit of time and effort into doing the original write up and he has a lot of good information that I'm sure many of you will find handy. :D


I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO LET OUR S3 COMMUNITY KNOW THAT WE'RE GOING TO BE GAINING A NEW MEMBER AS SOON AS HIS PHONE IS DELIVERED. I MET CWHATEVER IN ANOTHER SECTION AND HAVE KNOWN HIM FOR SOME TIME NOW. NOT ONLY IS HE AN AWESOME GUY, HE'S GOING TO BE A GREAT ASSET TO OUR COMMUNITY.

Pardon me, but... which guy? I click that link and it just takes me to something about a weather widget. And the one on the front page in the Miscellaneous post just takes me to some discussion about another phone altogether.

XDA must be having problems. I just tried it and it took me to a different thread. I tried it again and then it took me to the correct thread. I went ahead and reposted the links anyways. Try it again. If it still messes up.. Use your browser and Google " [Mega-Guide][12/01/14] Get a (Battery) Life! Every possible way to save your battery- XDA".

Edit. I just tried the links from both my pc and my phone. They are working fine now. Go ahead and check it out. There's some good info in there.

UPDATE

I FOUND A GOOD THREAD THAT Alpha2k STARTED REGARDING OUR PHONES ABILITY TO RECORD VIDEO AT 1080P EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY DISPLAYS AT 720P. Rukbat, Mydian, and Smith WERE KIND ENOUGH TO BREAK IT DOWN AND EXPLAIN IT FOR US. I THOUGHT THIS WAS DEFINITELY WORTHY OF ADDING TO THE "MISCELLANEOUS" SECTION OF THIS THREAD BECAUSE I'M SURE MANY OF THE S3 OWNERS ARE NOT AWARE OF THIS INFORMATION. THANKS FOR BREAKING IT DOWN AND SHARING IT WITH US GUYS. :)

Bro, be prepared to have your mind blown. Coming from the Prevail to the S3 is going to be insane. I can't wait until you flash Wicked Sensations or MOAR. You may want to have EMS on stands bro. You may literally go into shock. Lol.

Seriously bro, you're going to love this phone. Not only for the hardware upgrades but for the ROMs and mods that you are going to have access to. Oh yes oh yes. I see a happy dance coming in the near future. Hahahahaha!! :D:D:D:thumbup:

Dial 91 on your prevail, then wait for a bit to see if you need to dial 1 after flashing. But seriously I've had this phone for a couple of weeks now and even coming from the marquee this is such a huge improvement.

And I haven't gotten to say it yet, but thank you wetbiker for making such an amazing one stop shop guide for this phone. You're the reason I got this phone since I was lurking around the forums reading as much as I could before deciding what to get, I saw you were here and had a kicka$$ guide for every little piece of it. Such great support for an already great phone just makes it twice as nice.

what biker said mind = Blown! What a prevail brother. Coming from the prevail ide say yeah have an emt on standby no more a2sd, no more squinty eyes trying to read websites and forums and definitely M.O.A.R. mods. lol i havnt gotten rid of my prevail still mess with it once in a while. i got my s3 before we had support and on stock its a great phone. it was a little scary in the beginning but now with all the support im flashing roms left and right. thanks Obama i mean WetBiker lol not only biker everyone but biker has def helped me out alot personally.
 
Definitely an awesome phone and an equally awesome guide. Grsat work wetbiker7. :thumbup: I'm still running 4.1.2 and am a little hesitant to make the leap to a 4.3 ROM. I have been trying different modems and MK5 seems to be a winner. If I do take the plunge to a 4.3, can I jump back to 4.1.2 with one of my backups? Just curious because I've been itching. :p

What does dialing 91 and waiting do on the prevail?

Yes. As long as you have a backup of now you can try others and revert back if want, always wipe everything before flashing forward or back to an old.
 
Thanks guys. I would love to take all the credit for this thread but I can't. It wouldn't be here without the help from many of you and the Devs who've given us such amazing ROMs and mods. The majority of the credit goes to them. All I've done is help get the majority of it organized in one place.

Most of all, I want to thank each and every member of the Boost, VM, and Sprint sections. We've got a great group of people in here who've spent countless hours helping one another and answering questions. You guys are the life's blood of this section.

@scootmvdoot, have no fear about upgrading to 4.3. Just make sure you follow the instructions to a T and you'll be OK. Many of the 4.3 ROMs require the MK3 modem. Wicked Sensations is one of those ROMs. Just follow the the instructions and read read read. Someone is in this section pretty much 24-7. If you have any questions, make sure you ask before going forward.
Struckn has pretty much answered if you can switch back and forth. Just remember what he said about clearing cache and Dalvik before reverting back to 4.1.2. Getting rid of the old data is a must.

@ Cwhatever. It's really going to be nice having you in the S3 section. You are one of those people who will go out of their way to help another member and we're lucky to be have you joining this section.

I just wanted to add one more thing. Joining this S3 section was one of the best decisions I've made. Not only have I hooked up with old friends from previous phone sections (you guys know who you are), I've also met some awesome new friends here.

I look forward to coming in here every chance I get to see what new info has been posted and to help out where and when I can. You guys are the best. :)
