Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

I had a problem with MMS for a bit. Went with the fix, but no luck. I then remembered to update my profile and bingo, all is good. Thanks so much for the help. This phone is awesome. I will check 4g Monday @ work. Don't have it at home yet. :-(

Glad you got it hooked up. On the MSL, the person didn't have to get permission to give it to you. It's actually not a big deal at all for them to give you your MSL. ;)
 
im running the 710 moar rom and as all others i find it smooth and fast. im using the dkp kernal. ive been watching the boards for someone using the s3 as a host. ive been using stickmount and thumb drive to keep large files on like backups. with root explorer the drive appears as usb drive a files can be moved easily between storage locations. otg cable are very cheap i just havent heard it said so ill say something for those interested

For those of you who are running Wicked Sensations, try going into Wanam and choosing the enable all angle for the screen. Nice being able to flip the screen upside down and it's still readable.

Yes, I view two of my remote ip cameras and its nice being able to view when the phone is upside down, allows me to have it charging so I don't wear the battery down.

Thanks for posting this. I don't think anyone else has. I don't remember were I learned it.

StickMount.apk is a cool app. It is a Kousch product so you know it is Brilliant.

I got an OTG cable for Christmas when I helped my neighbor set up 2 kiddie tablets. Lol.

I have read posts that claim that OTG cables can fry the S3 USB port, but I have not had any problems. But, I do think about that and the only thing I have attached is a USB stick after I run StickMount.apk and attach the OTG cable. Don't know if this matters but it can't hurt.

I agree Wy. This was some good info. I can't remember anyone else commenting on the USB OTG.

I really wouldn't worry about the people saying the OTG will fry the USB port. I've read where people were screaming about how the S3 itself was frying their SD cards. You are always gonna have poeple who say it will or it won't. I would only worry if I heard it from a trusted source.

Thankfully the dock I purchased for my Asus TF300T tablet has a full size USB port that allows access to my flash drives and ext hard drives to mount. The full size SD card slot is also a nice addition. If you guys own one of these tablets and get a chance to purchase the dock for $49 or less, I would def get it. Not only does it have these features, it also adds 5 hrs to the battery because it has its own battery pack. Best Buy ran them on sale awhile back. I originally paid more for mine at Office Depot but they did a price match with Best Buy so I got lucky and ended up getting it for $40.

ADDED NEW VIDEO TUTORIAL TO "AOSP, CyanogenMod, and AOKP ROMs" SECTION ON HOW TO REMOVE THE ASSERTS FROM THE AOSP ROMS SO THAT THOSE ROMs CAN BE FLASHED ON OUR BOOST PHONES. :D

Does anyone know, can this zerolemon battery be purchased and fulfilled through amazon, on the amazon website it only says to purchase from basutass wireless??
Also, if anyone has bought the battery and had it fulfilled through amazon, how much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking??

You still buy it from Amazon, but then they can only use Bastex Wireless as a third party authorised Zero Lemon dealer, Amazon doesn't sell them directly. Mine was $39.99 about three weeks ago.

Thanks, how long did it take to get to you?? Just wondering if it is coming from china or not? I have ordered several items in the past and didn't know it was coming from china until they shipped and it took over a month to get to me.

Don't know. I ordered mine on 12/28. I paid the minimum for shipping which was 68 cents. Lol. Estimate started at Yesterday. Have not gotten it yet. But, it was New Year's... I expect it Monday.

Yeah, mine took six days because it wasn't Prime eligible, still not too bad and same shipping price for me as well!
 
I went into settings in wanam for multi window to select more apps, I do that, then it says to reboot, I do that and get apps I selected are not in multi window under edit. Have any suggestions?
 
I read a nice tidbit today. I rarely use Wifi but I see it on my battery stats sometimes.

I don't use the Connections Optimizer, but apparently even if you do not select it, it still runs and uses juice. You will see it on your battery graph.

I used Titanium and Froze it today. So far it seems to be helping.

Multi window is not even letting me switch apps from the menu to the bar. Even hitting the back button does nothing. I went back and unchecked everything and rebooted and still having the same issues, please help.

I am sadly ignorant about the benefits of multi window. I have it on MOAR but keep it turned off. I just use the recent apps to switch.

What am I missing? I don't mind doing some reading.

Getting apps added to that app bar is tricky. You have to choose edit and then drag and drop them to the bar the trick is getting the ones you want to be added. I don't use it but when I played with it the thing awhile I finally got some of my apps added to it. I haven't even tried adding apps to the 4.3 version. Long pressing the back button should either make the side bar pop up or make it disappear completely. That's the only thing the back button does. If you got it set for the back button to do anything else like kill apps then it won't work. I have my back button set to kill apps when I long press it.

Go to the Wicked Sensations thread and I'm sure someone will tell you exactly how to use that multi window bar. That's gonna be your best place to learn how to use the ROM features.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I just don't use that feature.


EDIT: I JUST PLAYED WITH IT AND FIGERED IT OUT. I WROTE UP A SHORT TUTORIAL IN THE WICKED SENSATIONS THREAD FOR YOU TELLING YOU HOW TO USE THE MULTI WINDOW. :D
 
For those of you running Wicked Sensations, Dazed updated it today!

A lot of mods are being added to the MyHub app today also. When I say a lot.... I MEAN A LOT! My phone has been going off all day with updates being added. :)

I'm sticking with WS right now Bro. I love CyanogenMod but am gonna give it more time to get some things straightened out. Pretty sure LTE is working on WS too. Not so sure about CM11 . Last I heard LTE was working but without MMS. If you switched back to CDMA, MMS would work. Might want to check with Struckn about CM11. I'm sure he will know and be able to answer whether LTE is working.

Wicked Sensations just got a bunch of MyHub mod updates today too. As a matter of fact, I've still got them coming in. The last one just came in about 5 minutes ago. It's sure nice to see all these mods being added. :D:D

Is MyHub working for you? I get nothing but errors and nothings seems to work. I have Philz so, I selected CWM since it's CWM based. Is there something I'm doing wrong or, do most of the mods there not work with their 4.3 Rom yet?

Got it to work! I had to manually flash the mod instead of just hitting "install" in MyHub. Maybe its because there is no Philz option? I've never tried Wicked before, so far I'm liking it! Theres so many options I could spend hours playing with everything, haha.

Glad you got it working. Just FYI, the app works best with TWRP, not CWM. Also, stay away from the MyHub in the phone settings and use the app icon in your app drawer. Open up MyHub, open settings and select your recovery. If you are running TWRP most of the mods can be flashed directly from MyHub. Download and choose to install them from there. With any other recovery besides TWRP, you will have to download the mod then boot into recovery, locate the download, then flash it. :D

Unfortunately, I found that out after about 10mins of flashing. Oh well, at least it works now! :D

I was using the app originally, but now I know to stay away from the MyHub in the settings. Thanks for the heads up! :thumbup:
