Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

Thanks biker, read aosp needed multiple data settings flipped. Had a feeling mms was prob all I needed. Been long minute since I've done much beyond a root. Sorry for the book I posted bro.

If "open apn" command still worked + clipboard in edit mode= cake
1st post was definitely an interesting read tho lol
Btw I was digging around & had found the right mms fix later last nite (trying to do my own homework I swear)

No worries bro. I guess I could remove the Open APN app info since it's no longer needed and won't work with the 4.4.2 ROMs too. I can see where that would confuse people who haven't been keeping up with Kit Kat. I'll get that done and a few things rewritten when I get a chance.

Of all my dumb Qs ...I really would love just one more anwser/ opinion (for now)
A good governor & ghz setting (for cpu) or maybe a bulletproof kernal to maybe keep sis from torching her battery in a week lol? Prob on the Moar rom, if that matters . Thanks

I'll leave this question for the people who've been running MOAR. When I run TouchWiz, I usually run Wicked Sensations with the built in dkp kernel.

Dkp is def the way to go with trickster for MOAR. There's actually a good link in the op for kernel setups if I were you i would read that thread to get a better understanding of kernels and how they work. Really kernel settings depend on how u use the phone. That's what sucks about setting up someone else's phone.

And also underclock and undervolt is the best thing to keep from torching the battery. But read read read before you go messing with undervolt or underclock could def prevent your phone from booting if you go to low with those settings.

Third post in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174403

And this thread its not for dkp but should help you understand kernels a little better:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032956

Should help you out.

Honestly Ktoonsez kernal will also give you awesome battery life with MOAR I recomend you try both see which gives you better battery life. Every phone and user have diff preferences.

Happy Modding:D

I've been running moar for months now (thinking of finally going back to aosp now that 4G and stock mms works together) but if it is for your sister just flash moar 9.0.1 with dkp kernel and she will not have any problems at all. Don't mess with kernel settings and the battery and phone will not blow up, it will run great as is. Runs fast and smooth and has almost all the settings you would want/need built in.

I had heard moar had some issues, I don't remember what exactly they were now, just remember reading about issues and it made me not want to use it.
So is moar working ok now?

I know man! I'm so stoked the maintainer for the Verizon MIUI rom agreed to take over the sprint version. Maybe it will turn into an lte build eventually.

Yes. Use the mopedryder fix.

I'm watching that thread now waiting for another build so I can test lol

Moar had call issues and bluetooth issues it would either take a while to connect to a call or volume was super low on your end you had to yell to sound normal to the other person but that was with the old kernel if I believe dkp updated his tw kernel and fixed it , also though moar got updated too so you shouldn't have any issues someone correct me if I'm wrong but I personally couldn't tell you in on liquid smooth

I flashed MOAR a few weeks ago and didn't have any issues with it.

9.0.1 has been solid for me. Not quite as many mods as v7.xx, but more mods than you would ever need. I use dkp kernel untouched added comadose and I get about 18 hours with the higher side of moderate daily use. All the added mods (at least the ones I use) work flawlessly, and the only mods I had to seek out was comadose and a app to make int.d load and work on boot (I think I'm missing something cuz I would think dkp would already have int.d enabled).

Only known issue that I really hear which is an android 4.3 issue (I thought it was an android issue, but I could have been a kernel issue as HiiiPowers said) is sound quality during a call, but the quick and easy fix is to disable 'noise suppression' in call settings.

Cool. I'll give it a try I think. Always did like moar, only thing I hated was the sound quality, and yeah it is a 4.3 issue, because I tested on jdsingles mk5 which is 4.3 and it had the exact save issue. I'll have to remember the noise suppression trick.
Now all I gotta do is find me a Wi-Fi :D

The stock dkp kernels for both Wicked Sensations and MOAR have init.d enabled. Decimalman hooked both kernels up with it for Dazed and Rompnit. Last I heard, those were the only dkp kernels that have it though. All his individual kernels do not have it enabled.

That's what I thought. When I installed comadose it would not work and I checked init.d and it said it was not enabled??? I thought it definitely had it for all the scripts that he has built into his rom. but after finding that it was not enabled I figured it didn't have it. So i installed 'Universal init.d' (it's a great app, I definitely suggest it if you need init.d) and comadose ran great and extended my battery out to about 17-19 hours of use... And I was happy!

But I just now checked init.d due to your post, and yes it is enabled!

so I don't know where I went wrong or what happened but it does work and all is good! and now I don't have to use that app... hmmmm.

i never thought to add comadose to the moar rom didnt know if it would work thanks for the tip def thowing it in there now. im on liquid now but im gonna restore just to add comadose to my backup so i have it.

(quoting mess up)
I assume it is simliar to greenify? I'm using it on my s2, until i set up my s3. Should I not bother with Xposed + greenify (built into moar) then?
Either way i'll hunt down comadose & check it out thanks bud.

Thanks to all for the advise on Moar & kernal tweaking.
Downloaded Moar w/ktoonzes kernal yesterday. Diggin it alot over wifi, gonna activate it online & get msl next couple days. Gonna go unchrck call filter now (in case both kernals muffle mic)
Yep, with like 30 governors built in to the included kt tweaker app... I'm gonna leave it until she complains... Maybe read a bit off & on. Other ppls phones... Ur absolutely right on that one. Trying to be preemptive as possible tho smh.
Your guidance is very appreciated :D

greenify is built into the rom, I do use it as well. Greenify keeps an apk from auto starting on its own. Comadose puts your phone into a deep sleep when the screen is off (might do other things too, if it does I forgot). But using both together got my battery from 8-12 hours to 17-19 hours of moderate use.

I never got around to trying Comadose but I did use Greenify quite a bit. As you mentioned, it's a great app for shutting down those apps that like to run in the background and eat your battery up. Facebook and Amazon are prime examples. Up until Greenify I was using Titanium to freeze the apps. Greenify is much more user friendly.

I may go ahead and restore my backup of MOAR and install Comadose. After reading how highly you talk of the mod, I think it would be a nice addition to MOAR. Anything that helps save your battery without sacrificing performance is all good in my book.:D Thanks.

... After reading how highly you talk of the mod...

Lol.. I've been thinking of installing liquid smooth or the sensation rom because of how you been boasting about it...

I have been so busy I haven't wanted to take the 2-3 hours to flash and setup a new rom. Last time I did was when carbon release an updated a few months back. Got it all set up, went to work the next day and the gps was not accurate. So back to moar I went and stayed. Been too busy to do clean flash when an updates for moar were released, I've just been dirty flashing the updates lol.

So my recommendation for moar is due to it being a solid, clean, fast, rom for me, but I'm not/can't compare it to the roms that you boast about or any other rom for that matter so I'm definitely not saying it is better.
;)

Anything that c-blocks background processes, for over zealous apps is  Greenify is so user friendly, that my sis phone will have it. Oh Comatose... I get it, I thot the governor handled sleep throttling tho? Ur battery stats are awesome though so I'm sold.
I also use Avast, it eats battery, but has a firewall to block individual apps from data use (you can tic wifi, 3/4g & roaming) so maybe balances out by keeping wallpapers & fonts offline lmao.
Xprivacy is great too, but it is alotta work & alot of it is guess work unless you deeply understand script i assume. (some processes are less obvious as to exact meaning)
Facebook for example is always half broken... I'm not even installing it on my s3. Invasive pos that it is. Browser will work for me.
Btw my favorite plan b battery saver while at work? (I run all over town;electrican) Tic data off... & pretend its a phone lol

i also came across this app:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.perappmodes which is a paid app that i havnt tried my self its 1.99 seems very interesting allows you to set cpu settings per app which could also save battery.

im waiting for another survey from google opinion rewards to have enough for it seeing as i dont wanna spend my money just incase i dont find it worth my money.

google opinion rewards you complete suveys they give you money. in other words free money from google.
