Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

I think my s3 either has a charging issue or battery issue if I hold my phone in a certain position or rotate it it'll stop charging completely and last night plugged my phone in the charging light came on picked up my phone in the morning and had 49% so it wasn't charging even though the light was on and plugged in my phone has been doing this for a couple of weeks just now ready noticed it anyone else ever had issues with either the port or the battery?

HiiiPowers. I believe your charger cable is just going bad. Try a new one approx $15 locally or $3 on ebay
MicroUSB (the new standard connecter pin for phones) is designed to be less durable than the old MiniUSB for a reason... It is FAR better your charger get tweaked than it be strong enough to break your phone's charging pin... Annoying yes, but wise engineering.
Hopefully this helps bud.

95% chance you just need a new cable (if your connection has the slightest wiggle than that's most likely your problem)
I've gone through 4 cables now.

Just hope your not the 5%...

I hope you'll are right I'll buy another cable and see how that goes because the Samsung cable went out months ago and I been using the cables I have around my room and they're all old so might be. Just hope it's not the connector that would blow

If you have already been trying multiple cables then its not sounding too good... the next thing that I think it would be is that the solder cracked loose on the female connector inside your phone, and that's not good, repair time... :(

I'm thinking it may be the same thing Smith but hoping it's not. I've read where quite a few people have had that happen with the S3. That and the charging port going bad all together and having to be replaced. There are a few posts over on XDA where people have asked for help with it.

I'm lucky that I have a cell phone repair place ten minutes from my house. They repair charging ports for 25 bucks in just a few min. Longer and just a bit more if they have to replace the port.

Man, that's nice. The closest one to me is over a hour away. I'd probably end up doing it myself. lol :D

I had it happen with a blackberry, I tried to fix it myself, no go. Just had a broken up dead phone

I had the BlackBerry Curve before I exchanged it and got the Prevail. Reception on that thing was horrible. Speaking of the BlackBerry, check these 2 out. I originally went with the Clutch when I changed over to Boost. New on the smartphone scene, I thought the Clutch was a smartphone because it looked like a Blackberry. Man was I wrong. LOL! I ended up buying the white 7520 off EBay. It was a crackberry and had originally been a Nextel phone. Well, the white one's ear speaker didn't work. It would only work on Speakerphone. The guy sent me the black one as a replacement and I used that thing for over a year before I bought the Curve. They are nice phones but they're the size of a small microwave. :D LMAO.

As you a can see in the picture, the white one has a cracked screen thanks to my Grandson. It's OK though. Accidents happen plus it was the one with the speaker issue. Both still power up. The black one still works perfectly too.

Since you mentioned the BlackBerry, I thought you guys might get a laugh out of this pic.

Smith....... One more thing........... clean out your PM box. It's full. I need to send you a message. Thanks.

Wish I was you I really think it's my port Smh
Getting ready to use the new cable now

See? You get all invested in some ppls drama &.................. Nothing. Lol hopefully it charged.

Yep, i got a drawer full of old phones too... I remember trying to get more functionality out of java apps for iden motos... Moto always patched before i found any hacks on the forums lol... & even when you got somewhere not much of any development...

Then getjar hit nothin seemed to do what i imagined out the box. For example kept thinkin how phones have gps & triangulation. How do we access it & add it to a map? Lmao...

Capt. Kirk's phone was junk compared to mine, but at least his got signal most of the time ;)

Drum roll.... and the survey says...

=wetbiker7;6529461]I'm still waiting to hear from HIIPowers. Hopefully that cable fixed the problem.

I think it's just my cable im getting a new one today during my instructor's lecture I used my friends charing cable and had no issues going to Radio Shack to grab a new one today
If I'm wrong I'll at least have a spare cable lol
I barely want to touch the phone now though I'm being extra gentle with it because I don't want it to break on me
I would recommend to anyone with this phone be very careful when unplugging and plugging in cables
Buying a new phone really isn't something I want to do because man invest a lot of flashing into this phone lol and for it not to charge is crap especially because I paid new price for it when it came out which if I remember was 300 plus taxes and I'm not rough on any of my devices I don't even have a screen protector on never had one and the screen still has no scratches

I hear you bro. I bought mine new too. It definitely wasn't cheap and isn't something to just go out and buy at the drop of a hat.

I hope it IS the cable. They're not very expensive. I've got a few of them. lol

Worse case scenario you could always look into a QI wireless charger. I love mine. I can't remember the last time I plugged my phone in to charge it.

If anything ever happened, he would still need that port for Odin. I hope it's not broken but if it is it would be best to get it fixed. The part isn't expensive at all. Around $10 I think.

EDIT: Then again, all he may need is to add a little solder if that's all that's broken loose.
